Rathbone 13:54 - Aug 4 with 5710 views | Sheffield_dale | Reports he will be sold at Rotherham. He's been their captain and done well so may move for an ok fee. Any idea if we have a sell on clause?

Which will mean a decent deal for us too. Cannon and Rathbone in their midfield.

Rathbone on 18:39 - Aug 9 with 2986 views | 49thseason | From Google. "As of August 9, 2024, Wrexham A.F.C.'s biggest fee paid for a player was for midfielder Ollie Rathbone from Rotherham United, though the exact figure was undisclosed. The deal was described as "undisclosed" but is understood to be significantly higher than the club's previous record of £300,000 paid for Ollie Palmer from AFC Wimbledon in 2022. " Say £400k at 10% = £40k in Jims budget? What did they pay us for him? Whatever would need to be deduccted as I think add ons are based on profits?

Sell-on clauses are a percentage of profit. Rotherham paid approx £250K for Rathbone. The sell-on is likely to be closer to 20%. £400K and it’s approx £30K. £500K and it’s approx £50K. Not to be sniffed at.

Would hope it’s the higher end as Evans wanted to keep him. The percentage of profit is one that’s often mistaken, with us missing out on occasions when a subsequent move is less than one previous - eg Dawson going to West Ham from Watford.

Plus EOC at the back. Just out of interest did the Dale careers of Rathbone and Cannon overlap?

Yeah, from 2016 until Cannon left two and a half seasons later.
