Minimum Unit Pricing 15:03 - Sep 10 with 6567 views | Dr_Winston | Another disastrous policy implemented in Scotland and slavishly copied by the Welsh Govt without even the slightest bit of evidence that it was achieving anything. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvg5233gn67o Now they're taking a story like this, which in any sensible society should be a reason to knock the whole stupid nonsense on the head, and doubling down.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Lets get this straight, the Senedd have increased the profits on alcohol and the tax paid on those extra profits benefits people in England, where there is no minimum unit price with Wales getting the Barnett equivalent which will be less than the amount of extra unit price paid in Wales AND the thing this unit price was started for was to reduce alcohol problems but alcohol related deaths have hit a record high.....hmmm. In other words thje Senedd's plan didn't work so yes, I expect them to double down and increase the minimum price.
Minimum Unit Pricing on 22:30 - Mar 14 with 576 views | builthjack | It’s rather odd that I bought some Butty Bach in Asda Hereford the other day, I paid £6.50 for 3 bottles. Tonight I bought 3 bottles for £6 in Builth Asda. So cheaper in Wales. I found similar when buying booze for Xmas. What’s going on?
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

On my last visit to Liverpool I bought petrol at a Texaco station that was cheaper than the Asda petrol in Llansamlet...what's that about? On my last trip to London I got a pint for cheaper than where I was drinking in Swansea....mysterious

In general high prices discourage buying and should encourage a reduction in consumption. Big discounts encourage big buying and as we probably know drunks do not save Alcohol for a " rainy day". The fact that deaths have not dropped does not mean the policy is not working. There are many other factors as you well know such as drugs use. The indication of success is reduced sales. The Scots and Welsh are trying policies and learning. Something is being done and lessons learned. It is typical of this forum to trash any WAG or Scots Govmt attempts to reduce death and harm. I cut right back just after my son...my youngest son...was born. Now I pretty much have 2 pints on a matchday (assuming I go) and I have felt much better for it and that's over 16 years back. I used to be a proper dipso. I did turn more to chocolate and biscuits though, I need my comfort food! Had to cut back there though as a blood test has shown my blood glucose is high. I need to repeat the test but the thought of being diabetic has seen me be a good little boy, not has choclate or biscuits in over a week, eating fruit...lets see how long that lasts!
