We're bottom of the league and having a laugh doesn't have the same ring about it...........

5-1 down second half and according to BBC still no subs.

Anyone explain the thinking?

Make the first choice XI suffer as long as possible.

I think i can safely say it was a great decision not to go last minute by myself tonight. Embarrassing and the end of this season can not come quick enough.

Bright point, obadeyi getting on the score sheet, sign him up for me.

I thought coleman had a no shite hard man image..... didn't see or hear him do anything tonight. No ranting or shouting towards the pitch. Terrible keeping & defending. Fed up n off to the pub

He couldn't find Holness to put the blame on him.

Seems like he has chucked in the towel like his players.

Whats our Chairman got to say about that 'as a fan'.

All of the above is wide of the mark

Sometimes, sport throws up uneven contests, and the Blades were just too good

We plugged away manfully for 90+ minutes, and it was quite entertaining

They should have been made to work much harder for their goals, though. The difference in class was no different to when Huddersfield battered us but lost 3-nil. For whatever reason our right-back (I'm told he's a centre-half; didn't Eyre regularly get pilloried for doing that!), spent a lot of time not at right-back, nor was there a discernible right midfielder in front of him. It shouldn't be that easy to score goals in professional football.

Eyre (rightly) got pilloried for picking AN Other at right-back instead of Darby

At the moment, we don't have a right back* so he's giving Byrne some game time

* I'm not including Phil Edwards in that category either.

The opposition found it easy to score their first four because of speed of thought, ball control and sheer pace. It's easy to find fault, but lets just give credit where its due for a change?

And people have indeed questioned the selections at full back. But let's not pretend it can be used to score any points in Eyre 's favour. He's taken us so far backwards we'll be recovering for a while yet.

And our two usual right-backs are injured, so it's square pegs into round holes out of necessity rather than choice.

Amankwaah and Byrne could swap but that was the best defence available tonight

It was my last game for Rochdale tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed my short time there wishing the lads & the rest of the club all the best! #rafc

Strange, assumed it was a loan until the end of the season. Surely we'd have extended it if we had a chance to stay up?

Pity, he was my MotM tonight and we look much better with him and JLAA in the same side.

On the subject of twitter. Alfie thought the worst:
"Sad news to hear my old club rochdale relegated!! :( hope they bounce back next season!!"

He corrected himself, but the thought's there!

Haven't seen the last 2 home games so only seen him once, but good to hear he was improving, would certainly like to see Coleman sign him up, but doubtful he'd want to play in L2.

Life is a game of fate.

I agree with this. Can't say I'm too disappointed tonight. We were beaten by a side who are on a completely different planet than we are. We weren't great, but we at least tried, I thought.
