Rochdale had the second highest away following as a percentage of their home fans last year! Just pipped by our illustrious neighbours!

17.7% is a cracking figure! Well done us!

This thread should be saved for the Bradford game.

Interesting too that Derby County, who give out free season tickets with mobile phone contracts, are second bottom.

Impressive by Carlisle too, given their location

Edit: and Torquay!

without wishing to detract from the wonderful away following the table doesnt recognise that for some clubs (particulalry those at the top of championship) away following is limited by capacity/ticket allocations, not by willingness of fans to travel.

Good point.

Also, Bradford's home average is inflated due to their cheap season tickets.

No doubt Rotherham will top that table for L2 this season, probably with over 100% of their home support!

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Very valid point, and obviously versus some large home gates, percentages following the big clubs will be diluted!

Still, it's very good that our core support is this loyal!

Just goes to show how well we could of done with a reliable club coach, games not being called off on saturdays for cold pitches, meaning played Tuesday with no coach, or clubs not allowing drunk fans in.

There ought to be some hand hanging.

Clubs don't take important stas seriously. Because of their myopia, we of lost the bragging rights to b**ury already before last season has even kicked off.

Only beaten once the previous in the previous three years too when Brighton were still at Withdean and getting much lower home crowds.

Kind of a shame a lot of it is driven by us having the worst (and falling) home attendances in the division....

You're right - it's the standard of football on offer at Spotland - it drives us to away games. Plus, there's no coaches.

But it indicates that our hardcore 2500 or whatever are pretty loyal home and away.

Don't get me wrong, there is a very loyal core (as most teams have). However RAFC have done very little to attract additional supporters to home games making the loyal core an ever increasing percentage of the total support

When attempts are made they sometimes aren't capitalised on either.

Lead story on the OS today should have been a final push on the '3 for 2' offer for the friendlies.

Was there a decent ad in the Ob at weekend promoting it?

No, nor was the offer mentioned in today's Ob, but they did kindly call our opponents a 'Blackburn XI', which usually suggests a fringe team.
