I know Britton has been great for you for and for many years been an ever present but Gary Medel is an international world cup bound midfielder (having already played in WC2010) with 56 caps in a Chile side who are no mugs i assure you. To compare these two players individually is ridiculous. |

Britton is the better player for our side, whereas Medel is the better fit for theirs.
Both have different strengths and attributes and neither side would want to swap I'm sure. While this AshleyCCFC's comments on Britton are clueless, people are silly writing Medel off. While I agree it doesn't mean much that he's played 50+ games for Chile (who wouldn't be getting anywhere near the WC if they were European), he's clearly a player good enough for the top level.
But I'm not sure what people expect. It wouldn't be much of an article if it was 11 Swansea players. Plus Abbandonato is a Cardiff fan right? It could easily have been more bias-it's 7 Swans against 4 Cardiff players after all. Caulker, Kim, Bellamy and Medel are their best players so you can see why they've been included. | | | |

Why is that the most important part here? There is a reason Leon Britton has spend the overwhelming majority of his career in the football league. Medel has been in this league for 8 games. He has played a very important part for us so far and was excellent in our wins against Man city amd Fulham. What more would you have expected him to have done so far? I'll bite.
Leon Britton is custom built for international football. Uses the ball wisely, has great positional sense. The reason why he hasn't had international caps is that England think they are "FC Hollywood" and think that shoe horning names into 442 is the way forward. It sums up English football that Scott Parker, a player with awful positonal sense and not the greatest technically won player of the year "cos he ran around a lot and threw himself into tackles".
As for anyone judging Medel it's early for even your mob, never mind us to pass judgement. |
I have seen Scott Parker play for Spurs and Fulham and can honestly say he is the worst central midfielder in the Premier League. He is desperately trying to play a Britton role but hasn't got the skill or intelligence to pull it off. How he ever had a cap let alone the captaincy is beyond comprehension. Another media darling because he once played on after having a tooth knocked out and had one season looking good in a terrible West Ham side. Terrible player and because of that I hope Fulham go down. | |

I had to laugh last year. he passed the ball to Bale out wide and then followed the ball so he forced bale into a tight area and made it easy for Chelski to win the ball back.
