But Jenkins confirmed to Sportsmail on Tuesday that he is 'likely' to resurrect formal talks with Blackpool over a move for Ince, who is out of contract in the summer.

He said: 'He is a very good young player and one we looked at in the summer.

In addition to a wide player, Jenkins admitted Swansea manager Michael Laudrup would like an extra signing in January.'It would be most likely to act as cover for defence or midfield,'

Can understand the logic of wanting cover at the back (so Tiendalli need never pull on a shirt again), and our need for another winger is obvious, but I'd struggle to see where we need extra numbers in midfield.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Seems more like defence than midfield cover. Ash is struggling and we can't rely on Chico and Amat.

Couple of injuries in midfield and we might struggle to cope with the fixture list. But aye, another defender and winger would seem to be the most important areas to strengthen.

I'm still hoping Tiendalli will claw back his form of last year. If not, I'd bring Jazz back. He's playing better than him.

Or elimination in the last 32 of Europa league and exit from FA cup in round 3,we will have a lot of players not getting game time.

Anyway when is Pablo back ?

Way to look on the positive side! We could go deep in both competitions and be stretched. We'll know clearer at the end of the window, but the Ince signing I suspect is one that is independent of this season's needs ... this one's been in the pipeline for 18 months.

I agree.... Tiendalli should never, ever pull on a swans shirt again, unfortunately I think he's been given a 3 year contract so he probably will do.
Alvaro Vazques is another...thank f*ck he's only on loan.
Routledge blows hot and cold... cold more often than not.
Pablo! well, too say he's injury prone would be an under statement.
Taylor certainly isn't back to his best since his injury.
That leaves a few areas where we could/need to recruit in the jan window, just my opinion.

It's highly unlikely to be cover in midfield. If it is then surely we'd be better off recalling Ki than buying anyone else.

Gee, has somebody nicked your username and password of late?

Tiendalli - in and out of the side and has hardly had a mare of a game and each time he's played I think mostly we've come out with some sort of result. Remember also, he's 3rd choice full back, its difficult to come in for these lesser games with the flattest of atmosphere's and get going. As far as 3rd choice full backs go, i'm more than happy with Tiendalli and know for sure he'll do a job for us, even if he's not exactly wooing the fans with scintillating performances.

Alvaro Vazques - is weak on the ball and not ready for the first team, not by a stretch at the moment. He's got ability but lacks the mental and body strength at the moment, so hopefully he'll get stronger as the season develops. I still think he's handy off the bench.

Routledge - This season was always going to be tough for our attacking players, Routs, Dyer, Michu, all struggling to a certain degree. We've become a marked team, we should be proud of the fact that teams come to ours happy for a draw these days. The downside of that is our attacking players are finding less and less room for manoeuvre. I thought Routs was brilliant against Stoke.

Pablo! - It is disappointing the amount of injuries he's getting. We seem to hate players like this. If it's always genuine that he's got medical problems, we really should be more sympathetic.

Taylor - Just coming back after a broken leg, again, he's hardly been a stand out failure since returning. There's genuine competition at full back. Ben has had some ropey moments also, but what do we expect, we're still Swansea City.

Still blydi negative as always :-(

Well I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree then.
Tiendalli has has been sh*te everytime I've seen him this season...defensive positioning, negative going forward and when he does get into a good forward postion his final delivery is bloody awful.

Not sure exactly what you're getting at when you say "it was always going to be tough for our attacking players" this is our 3rd season in the top flight, they should know what to expect, especially at home, they are either playing well or not. IMO some are falling short especially Routledge.

Sympathetic or not, the fact is Pablo is injured more than he's fit, I'm not blaming anyone for this, but having a great winger that hardly ever plays is like being a millionaire on the f*cking moon.

At least it seems we agree on Vazques and Taylor though.

It is our 3rd season and through success it's only going to get tougher. Michu's in his second season and is finding things a lot harder, why do you think that is?

I think there's credit due in the respect managers are showing us now, even though, that comes at a hell of a price. Swansea at home for teams playing us, well a draw's a good result, with all bar a very select handful. The amount of time-wasting that's going on and the compact and organised defensive units we're coming up against, it's not easy. I just don't think it's as "cut and dry" to say this or that isn't performing, there's good reason for it.

Vazquez would ideally be our third striker while he adapts to the PL but we don't have the luxury.
To write off a success for the best U-20/21 team in the world at this stage beggars belief.

That Bony's sh1te an' all, eh?

It's a long, tough ol' season and this one is the toughest we've probably ever had.

To be sitting one point away with 2 games left of the group stages to get to the last 32 and mid-table Premier League should be widely celebrated.

I just can't get my head round all this negativity and digs at our players. Who's to say Vasquez and Tiendalli, for examples won't turn out to have real successful seasons with us.

I'm sure the whole squad will more than play their part this season and if we can have a decent run in Europe and comfortably survive for yet another season at the top table, then it's job done and hats off from me!

Just where did I say Bony's sh*te ?
Vazques may have been a success at U-20/21 level, but in my opinion has not shown me anything in the slightest to suggest he can make it in the premiership...... poor first touch, unable to hold on to possession, lacking a yard or two of pace, but hey! what's that got to do with it, he used to play for the Spanish U-20/21 side don't you know, so he must be good.... I bet all the spanish clubs were kicking themselves when they heard he'd gone to Swansea City.

What does beggar belief, is that we desperately needed cover in the striking department and Vazques was the best we could find.

Vasquez was brought in to be a third choice. Another option. Proven quality strikers willing to potentially play third fiddle are few and far between.

Whilst Vasquez hasn't set the world alight so far, it's not an easy adjustment from La Liga to the PL and far more proven players than him have taken a little while to get the hang of the change in style.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

You didn't say Bony was sh!te - plenty of other posters wrote him off though.
Look how utterly f*cking useless Giroud (aged 27) was for Arsenal last season - looks dynamite this year. Unbelievable, Jeff...

Vazquez wasn't the best we could find, rather the best we could afford (i.e. a promising young talent on loan) after splashing out on Bony. Plan B is Michu up front when needed.

Not ideal, but then again, we aren't Citeh...

So players who are getting very limited game time (Vazquez, Amat, Tiendalli etc) are expected to be able to settle into a new club/ country/ style of play and be at the top of their game immediately.
Do they play even for the reserves/ development teams on a regular occurrence?
I'm guessing that players settle and are brilliant from the time they sign, happens on the football games bought in the shops. Human nature or real life is different.
Obviously ML, the coaches, scouts and board think a bit differently and are prepared to be patient and build for the future.
This is by far the strongest Swansea squad I have seen since I started watching back in the 70's.
Yes, things can always be better and people in a high profile position will always be criticised, but most are at least given a chance. A footballer only has a chance to shine during a game. How can he settle/ learn etc if he is not playing regularly?

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

I agree, it is difficult for players that are getting little playing time to fit into a side.
But I would say, especially in the case of Vazques, being given time to adapt is one thing.......being unable to hold the ball is a lack of basic skill, ok! maybe that might be rectified on the training ground.... how do we compensate for his lack of pace?
I sincerely hope I'm wrong about Vazques, and I'll be more than happy to come back on here and eat humble pie if he does come good.

Tiendalli has done well for us with limited game time in the past.....so what's the excuse for him playing sh*te?

Armat has done fairly well IMO.... although I felt Bartley a better player.
