Very sensible of course. But should allow the club to start to plan. May hear some more about how clubs will look at flexible season tickets so that people won't feel trapped. Shielders for example will need some reassurance that their ticket isn't wasted if there is a partial lock down in winter for example. |  | | |

10,000 capacity less 2000 in Sandy Lane gives 8000 seats , divide by 9 gives less than 1000 allowed to watch the game.

Residents across the borough of Rochdale are strongly advised to take extra precautions to help prevent coronavirus lockdown measures being reintroduced.
More cases of the virus have been uncovered since testing in Rochdale was increased last month and the borough now has one of the highest rates of infection in England.
From 29 June to 12 July the borough of Rochdale had the fourth highest rate of cases per 100,000 population in England behind only Leicester, Blackburn and Bradford.
Although the numbers are still well below those seen in Leicester where a local lockdown has been introduced, the number of cases in the borough of Rochdale are not falling quickly. To help prevent a local lockdown being brought in everyone is strongly advised to adhere to the following measures —
- Wear face coverings in shops now — do not wait until 24 July
- Wear face coverings in public as much as possible
- Limit visitors to your home to two people
- Keep 2 metres apart at all times
- Avoid physical contact with anyone outside your own household, including shaking hands or hugging
- Get tested and isolate if you are told to do so
The advice is effective from Friday 17 July and will be reviewed in two weeks’ time.
The council’s director of public health, Andrea Fallon, said: “The fight against coronavirus is not over. Although lockdown measures are being relaxed across the country, we can see from our local data that we need to remain vigilant to the threat posed by the disease.
“We have increased testing and that has shown us that we need to take action and ask everyone to help keep our infection rate down.”
Council leader Allen Brett said: “All of us need to do whatever we can to keep the virus under control. Although we are a long way from the Leicester situation, we cannot be complacent and it is vital that everyone does what they can to keep this virus under control.”
Residents can book a coronavirus test by calling the free phone number 0808 1964 100 to book an appointment or by visiting the NHS website.

The approach used in Australia, or at least those parts outside of Victoria, is that a family or group of friend, colleagues can sit Together if the tickets are purchased together based on principle that any infection among the group would be limited to that group so easy to trace. But there are three empty seats between groups and every other row remains empty. It provides a better ratio than 1 in 9. | | | |

Wearing masks will mean people can sit closer, say every three seats , as everyone will be facing the same way. Seems to work on trains. I said ages ago a capacity of 3000 should be doable safely | |

Don't see why the standing area should be closed when it's arguably easier to distance a metre apart than seating. The stadium should easily accommodate all season ticket holders assuming similar amount sold as last year which was around 2.5k I think. | | | |

Assume 3 people sit together in a row. The three seats behind and the three in front are then unavailable PLUS one on each side of the group of 3.
So 3 taken, 8 unavailable as a result.
Still a problem, but who is eligible for the seats in the first place? Who decides?
This is based on a 1-metre distancing. If it's fixed at 2 metres, you can add an extra row of seats in each direction, mean 3 occupied and therefore 22 unavailable. [Post edited 17 Jul 2020 13:25]

in theory but that would mean being able to buy specific seats (whether per game or season ticket) but isn't there also an issue (never mind toilet provision) about how to enter & exit the stadium without having to pass very close to anyone else (along a row) - sounds more like a school assembly mechanism | |
