Is this the same guy who signed for Greenock Morton !
If so the Greenock manager speaks very highly of him and his abilities as a coach, scout etc....

Perhaps he may know a decent left back....

That Greenock Morton manager is no longer Greenock Morton manager.

We had Andy Lonergan doing the role this season, up until his signing for West Brom.

But rightly or wrongly, BBM didn't want to play Lillis last season, so why would he then decide to keep him as a GK coach?

We've had GK coaches for years; it's only since Collis left last winter that others have been filling in on a temporary basis, so getting a permanent replacement probably is a priority, particularly for such a specialist position.

We've had no permanent goalkeeping coach since Collis left which wasn't ideal at all. A goalkeeping coach is a must and Lillis was evidently not rated by BBM who wanted him to leave from the start of last season. Why on earth should he have been kept on as keeper coach?

This was a very important appointment.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

Am the first to admit I find the world a strange place nowadays and I don,t mean solely because of Covid.
So I presume I am in the minority here but when we are being told that survival is the name of the game financially, how is this appointment even on the radar?
It seems to me to be one of those progressive "nice to haves" when times are good.
Right now with a supposedly decimated revenue? No I don,t get it.
Don,t begrudge the lad, good luck to him, but also what are the terms with these appointments? Are they a few hours a week which I can just about understand? Please don,t tell me its a full time position. If so, how the hell do they fill the week?
If this type of hiring is justified then I would suggest a defensive coach for starters or have we already got one and he has gone into hiding.

Have to say i very much agree with those thoughts

I can't for the life of me see how a full-time wage can be expended in this department. It may be that T&Cs with taking a keeper on loan are involved; my reaction to that would be do we need to be taking young inexperienced keepers on loan?

If life was proceeding along normally i can just about see that having someone available to help train keepers (it's obviously a specialist area) in terms of fitness and working with the defence in front of them is part of a professional set up. How many hours a week do keepers spend in actual fitness and other types of training? It absolutely can't be "full-time" so i wish Timmins well and hope he's able to help out washing the kit or preparing the ground on matchdays or summat

For a professional club you have to have a permanent goalkeeping coach and I think we've got lucky with the temporary guys that have come in to cover and done well looking at Sanchez and Bazunu but this was a priority for me. It also looks like we haven't wasted a wage on just a goalkeeping coach but someone who offers more than that.

Yes 'have to have' because 'should have' sounded too soft, 'must have' sounded too strong and we're all friends here and we don't have to have posts in Queens English.

Sorry if I have misunderstood you, but have to have as in the regulations require it, or it is desirable to have such a coach?
