With only four weeks until the season starts and a squad in urgent need of multiple additions, one thing we haven’t got is plenty of time.

A keeper, four defenders, an experienced midfielder and at least two more forward options are required to begin thinking about competing. Big job for the new manager.

Can't read too much into the result. We were always going to get battered today, by the looks of it Luton put a strong side out whereas we only had about 7 senior players out of 20 or so. Now that we have a manager in place hopefully the recruitment drive will start in earnest and today will have been useful to show him where the biggest gaps are.
