Aye, pre match is a free for all and can be really frustrating when you have kids with you wanting a drink and a snack. Just my opinion though, don’t want anyone crying and having veiled digs for daring to share it.

Thanks for the update. I know there is very limited room in the Dale Bar but has the club considered maybe a separate can and bottle bar (also with soft drink bottles) for anyone who would rather that than a pint? I think it would also help if people didn’t drink at the bar as they’re stopping people getting served as easily as they should and eventually I think it will put people off going in there. I know it winds me up but, to be fair, I could start an argument in an empty room apparently.

Bars update Barrow on 17:32 - Oct 15 with 2144 views | HullDale | Yep, Dale Bar was miles better today before the game. Good to see an extra card machine in Studds too, but half time really needs sorting in there. Queued for 15 minutes before giving up, queue from the bar out of the door to the left hand side but then people randomly just walking up to the bar and being served. It was close to kicking off in there a couple of times. A can / bottle bar and/or better queueing system with an extra one or two staff would be a really quick win. 2 staff for 3 hours would only cost about £30, and would easily see more than that back in increased takings.

Why don't they do what I have seen in theatres for interval drinks? If you want a half time drink you order it before the game, give your name, then the bar staff do the drinks just before the whistle to get them ready for people to pick up in groups organised by first letter eg A to F etc. Would there be space for that? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I've emailed the Trust with a similar proposal some weeks ago and believe it is under review.
Bars update Barrow on 19:36 - Oct 15 with 1812 views | fourfourtwo | Please can you just pre-pull pints? Half time was an absolute shambles. I got in the bar whilst the game was still on and managed to get a beer 4 minutes before re-start? Surely if you just over pull the main sellers like San Miguel you can just dish them out quick time and have staff focusing on payment? Everyone waiting for beers to pull is just silly when you think of it. Even if you end up pouring a few away it’s not the end of the world is it. Work smarter not harder.

If you visit the Dale bar before kick. You can place an order for half time but we ask you to do this once last orders have been made and before leaving to enter the ground. We are trying to limit the confusion when we are busy. We are in discussions with the trust and pushing ideas for improvement. Carlsberg/Studds. We have tried a can/bottle bar set up in the past and it didn’t work very well without having a fixed structure. We have also tried pre orders as well, but received complaints drinks were going missing or flat beer. Having a new till system in this area will help us massively because all tills are now the same around the ground. We will be able to move staff members to our busiest bars without learning a different system first. Also having an extra card reader will help. Connections do require improvement. We actively looking for extra staff. Pre pouring beers, we do need to try limit our wastage as much as possibly, in the recent weeks like everything else these days, brewery prices have increased. When we have pre poured, you can receive complaints of flat beer and the last place we really want to do is pour it down a drain. We know both Dale Bar and Ratcliffe do get extremely busy at half time, can I please remind everyone both bars are now operating on the same price structure. This was raised to the trust and changed at the beginning of the season. There has been issue's today with the new system around the ground which will always happen with new technology. Main issue is connectivity between internet and till systems. Hopefully this will get resolved quickly. I thank you again today for your patience and understanding. It has been a long day. We roll again on Tuesday. [Post edited 16 Oct 2022 6:56]
