the build up to that chant was one of the strangest few days I have ever known in football. We had the Jonah saga from a few days earlier, and then we had several days where stuff which should have stayed in the dressing room was being outed on these pages to the extent that the manager ended up posting on here. No idea who was doing the leaking but IMHO the person posting was doing it on behalf of someone else as there were things that were inaccurate. That chant was an absolute riposte showing 100% support to the manager as we stared relegation in the face. Coleman doesn't strike me as being an emotional bloke, but he must have been that afternoon at the unequivocal support he was shown that day.

I remember that game, I printed a load of fake bank notes at work saying 'Bank of Cheaterfield' and we threw them onto the pitch. Gilks made his debut, Connor put us 1 up and Platt missed when clean through. They equalised in the 90th min and those 2 points wouldve had us in the playoffs. Still cant believe they went up automatic virtually unpunished.
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Completely agreed and I'm glad I'm not the only one who'll always remember that strange week!
