Aye.

York were in the Conference in 2005.

I was there that night. Vague memories of another game v York, possibly 2 seasons earlier, saw them in a serious injury crisis. I think they played 11 defenders that day. They had no option.

That was 24th April 1993.

There less teams in the division due to Maidstone's resignation and their fixtures being removed, so it was York's last match, with everyone else still having one or two to play.

If York had won they might possibly have been promoted, depending on other results, but Dale won 1-0 thanks to a Jon Bowden screamer.

Here is the table after that match: http://www.statto.com/football/teams/york-city/1992-1993/table/1993-04-24

York went up via the play-offs, beating bury and then Crewe.

I can remember being at York (1983 ish) for an FA cup match (away) when Dale scored a very, very early goal.

So early in fact that Dale manager (Jimmy Greenhoff) hadn't reached the end of the tunnel and missed it.

Dale went on to win 2 - 0.

Steve Johnson, 15 seconds, then he scored again in the second half.

Dale then lost 4-1 at home to Telford in the next round!

That's the one, but why you had to add that last sentence I've no idea.

My worst ever memory as a Dale fan and believe me there have been quite a few !!!

I'm glad you posted that SL. That too, is my worst ever day watching Dale. Followed closely by the recent FCUM debacle.

Poll: Who do you think bury should appoint as their next manager?

I was there that night. Mental game.

Didn't we lose 1-0 to them at home on a Tuesday night a year or two before that when they hadn't scored a goal away for home in about 3 months or something mad?

Tangled up in blue.

I missed this game because I was too busy attending an S Club 7 concert.

Bumped into Dennis Irwin after the game and got him to sign my ticket, I honestly think that would be worth millions these days.

Aye, the season before, but they had only failed to score in their previous three away games.

Looking at their other results, it was a run of two goals in seven away games before they arrived at Spotland.

ATP in talking nonsense shock

It was probably the run of 1 point from 7 games before us that I was remembering. Looks like that result sparked a run that ultimately kept them up!
