He has been trying to sell the club for some time. He resigned following a meeting with the supporters clubs on Thursday. They weren't happy that he was only prepared to fund their losses to the tune of £5m per season and they want him out. He still owns the club but says that being Chairman with such ill feeling is unhelpful. He was clear that they will still have the largest budget in League One but the deluded mackams aren't happy.

They hate him because he cut their budget so that the club only lose £5m each season and he covers that. He has allowed them to retain the biggest budget in League One and covers their loses and they still want him out. They will get what they deserve. | | | |

Although they were no were near as big Oldham suffered the same lament. They stagnated in league one, went through several chairmen, over paid their players and struggled financially.
