| My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds |

Dont believe anything that comes out of the BBC though. According to the beeb, two North wales players who scored against Hornets on Saturday werent even playing. They must have gone early to the funeral.
The Funeral on 20:24 - Sep 19 with 1869 views | D_Alien | I agree bdb Irrespective of one's views on monarchy (and again, this really isn't intended to start that discussion), when we put our minds to it the UK is pretty much unrivalled in producing complex events that has the rest of the world gawping in wonder, whether that's from the 2012 Olympics (probably the best of modern times) to the past 10 days or so, and especially today You can sense how other heads of state wish they could have the same infrastructure such as Westminster Hall, Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle etc, but these ancient icons just can't be manufactured, only accumulated through a 1000 years of history and with a story to tell throughout that period If you want to be mercenary, just think of the amount of tourist revenue and international goodwill that'll have generated and will continue to do so for some time. But i'd rather not be mercenary, just glad i was born here

To be honest D.a It could not have been about tourist money in a lot of ways as the county pretty much shut down but in all of this & world leaders etc… the First Lady of Ukraine was able to attend & I bet that took some planning.. 💙💛.. Hope she got home safely 🙠Today was about a goodbye & yes we will pay for it in taxes in someways but our generation will always remember where we were in three pivotal things in History: 1. Where you were when Princess Diana died in Paris 2. 7/11.. Twin Towers 3. HRH Queen Elizabeth passing Let’s hope there isn’t a 4…

Ahh, you youngsters.... What about.. The Gagarin spaceflight Aberfan The assassination of Kennedy The first Human Heart Transplant Man on the Moon 1966 world Cup Final All these dominated the news for days , I vividly remember the Headmaster at my primary school interrupting a lesson to tell us about Gagarin, he was absolutely amazed. My Grandfather went with a pit rescue team from Deerplay Colliery to Aberfan and refused to talk about it when he got back. I was at Cubs when we heard Kennedy had been assassinated in 1963, the day after we went on a school trip to Hollingworth Lake which was frozen over enough to walk across. In 1966 the lad who delivered the Saturday Pink was walking down the middle of the road at 5.o'clock, there was no traffic, the whole country was on pause as the game went into extra time. To be honest I don't remember much about the 1st heart transplant except what I could read in the papers I remember Christiaan Barnard was the Doctor in South Africa who did the operation but I remember wondering about if another heart would feel the same and what would happen if he died. He did after I think 5 days I just googled the recipient ..Louis Washkansky a brave if desperate man. I remember watching Armstrong stepping onto the Moon on our Black and White TV, I didn't see colour T V until a year later when I watched the 1970 World Cup Final at a mates house during Rochdale wakes weeks. And through all this Elizabeth was on the Throne .... A strange thing suddenly having a King.

I remember prayers being said at school asking God to avert a nuclear war. The state funeral of Winston Churchill on a Saturday in early 1965 Manchester United winning the European Cup in 1968 Electricity rationing during the miners’ strike in 1974 when the TV went off at 10.30pm every night. There is an interesting museum at the Groote Shuur hospital in Capetown where the first transplant was performed. I visited it during the 2010 world cup. The recipient survived 18 days
