This will be a serious test for us to overcome on Wednesday. Solihull are much improved from the team we thrashed earlier in the season. It's not a situation where we can hope to score the odd goal and ride it out as we are inclined to do. Outside of the top seven they are the team to be most wary of. Their ability to score goals marks them out as a very dangerous outfit. They are capable of punishing you as several teams have found to their cost. I hope we are at our best, take our chances and don't settle back if we score. Hanging on to a one goal lead will not work with these as Carlisle discovered yesterday. Buckle up, I think it could be a tricky one, the first of many over the next few weeks.

We don’t usually sit back after scoring, but when we have to the players all look very comfortable in their game plan. EEL commented on it.
The issue in some games is we don’t get a second - look at Duku’s missed chances yesterday and other situations which McNulty talked about in his own interview. .

With our record, they should be shitting themselves

If not, at least we shouldn't be

Yes the key in most games for us is taking our chances because we do regularly create quite a few. Clean sheets have saved us in a fair few games - but we can't keep relying on those - if we could be a little more clinical infront of goal and improve our finishing we could make lives a lot easier for ourselves. Obviously getting Mani Dieseruvwe back onto the pitch will help us with this.

Has anyone heard about Mani De`s injury.? Jim is making no reference to it in interview. Also Mani Du asked to be taken off on Saturday after taking a knock. All the more surprising that Tyler Smith remained on the bench throughout. Only 1-0 at that time thanks to Amantchi`s 2 dreadful misses.

One more note of caution. Our night record for some reason seems to be not as good as weekend games. Out of the 4 league games we've lost 3 of them have been night matches.

And we've won the other 3 night matches we've played in the league, by an aggregate of 11-1.

I'm not a maestro, far from it, but I just engage my brain before posting.

So only won 3 from 6 games. A lot worse than weekends. 50% win compared to 88%.

Yeah, I can do percentages.

Anyhow, I'm not sure 3, 4 or 6 games is any sort of sample size to make conclusions from either way.

Just seems quite a big difference to me. To have only lost 1 daytime game out of 17 played but lost 3 from 6 night matches. Hope it improves tomorrow night.

The point of this thread was to highlight the capabilities of Solihull and recognise that they will provide a proper test. The fact that it is a midweek night game or a Saturday game is irrelevant. The challenge remains the same and hopefully is one we can overcome to provide a springboard into the raft of important games we face over the next few weeks.

Absolutely, and I'm sure the management team and players know all about Solihull's improvement and capabilities.

On tonight's games (Didn't want to make a new thread). Watching Boreham Wood v Scunthorpe and it's been a very one-sided first half. Scunthorpe have looked good and Boreham Wood just aren't in it at all. 3-0 at half time but Scunny could have been completely out of sight.
