Few stand outs for me personally.
John Pender. Think he broke down on his Dale debut away at Scunthorpe and hardly (if ever) figured again having been a Barrow "big name" signing.
Paul Williams. Came with a big reputation but was very often "unavailable" until suddenly announcing he was fit when we reached the Northern final of the lower league cup. He wasn't selected much to his annoyance !!
Lee Hodges. Another "big name" signing who disappointed hugely. Arrived looking like he'd eaten a few of the other players, and never really got going. Think Simmo was manager then. | | | |

Had an hernia which (thankfully) restricted his appearances at centre forward

As mentioned, Lee Hodges. Signed from Scunthorpe when Simpson was manager. Thought it was a spectacular signing. He was an absolute crock of the Neal Trotman ilk. Seen more able players in wheelchairs. Two for the bench there - they'd be lucky to be on the bench! [Post edited 19 May 0:08]
