Dorothy - Littleborough Legend RIP 12:10 - Sep 4 with 1671 viewsFondles

RIP Dorothy

You were another random charactor in my youth growing up, singing war songs in littleborough ladbrokes and asking random folk for cig's.

Hope your chonging away up in the clouds as we speak!

Not the one in the Wizard of Oz then?

Fondles, can you enlighten us.....I think I knew this lass. Not the average looking village idiot? More an extra-extra vert?

Just a bit odd. Any details?

Very old lady, no teeth and often stood outside Ladbrokes.

Catchphrase was "Have you got a fag?"

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Dorothy died penniless, not having any family and spending the majority of her life in homes/care homes. She was buried in a community grave alongside two other bodies.

The good folk of Littleborough had a collection around the local pubs and raised a few hundred quid which will be used to pay for a memorial plaque in Dorothys honour. Another one of the boros true characters, RIP.

I think roccy must have put in the collection instead of spending it at Spotland tonight.

Ha.Mrs Roccy working tonight and Roccy jnr. playing in a friendly for his team, so therefore could not make it. Having said that, probably wouldn't have gone anyhow, a bit like Chaff, not keen on the JPT.

The games can be among the most exciting of the season and also stress-free.

And all for a fiver.

Then again, the 'Change was probably open.

Not even been in there tonight. Will be in for the cricket tomorrow though, if you'd care to join me.
