A miserable return for Marti as white hot QPR incinerate Leicester – Report
at 10:13 22 Dec 2025

Fat Niles Crane had a very strange game. Completely invisible in midfield, I thought he held Kone and Burrell (no doubt tiring) fairly comfortably in check back in defence.

Everything you wrote about the lack of challenge on the third goal was even worse for the one Kone blasted over early in the second half. The Leicester fan at work was telling me how much he hates most of the squad but he particularly loathes Vestergaard for his passivity. If Kone had scored that time, it would have been completely shameful.

I think we should give a special mention for the excellent debut performance of Dembélé’s right foot. Put a great shift in, particularly in the first half.

Going from playing midfield in the Belgian league to the Championship must be like having the top layer of skin peeled off and being sprayed with lemon juice. Takes a while to get over the shock.

What are the flags in that corner? Can’t read them from my seats. I noticed they got the noise going in a quiet spell before the first Birmingham goal.

On Cifuentes, it’s amazing to recall that when he got here, the boys on the burning deck included Asmir Begovic, Ozzy Kakay, Morgan Fox, Andre Dozzell and Sinclair Armstrong, and he kept us up with that motley crew and what he could find on Freecycle (Andersen, Hayden, Frey and whatsisname from Wolves). And he’s a c*** now?

Fatawu got round him two or three times early but RND got on top of him and Fatawu seemed to lose heart and interest. Didn’t anyone else notice after about 30 minutes, Nelson could have played an easy ball short to him on the touchline, but turned away and belted it into the Paddock instead? Fatawu went mental and chased after him shouting. Shouldn’t laugh.

Was RND waving goodbye at the end? He was first towards the SBS with a surprisingly downcast look on his face. A pity if so, he’s been a really solid performer.

On the subject of constantly improving, I was amazed to discover that Dembélé has a right foot, and that it works pretty well. Leicester seemed unprepared for him being able to go round their left back rather than turning left at the edge of the area as he has usually done before. He was so much more dangerous as a result.

It was funny to see Leicester having a “this can’t go on” crisis huddle after the third goal, then amble back to position after the fourth.

I missed that too, never heard it before if so. Presumably in the book. If the talks had come a couple of years earlier, we might have got Houghton too!

Couldn’t believe the “You’re a c@@t” was directed at him the first couple of times, I was checking which Leicester player might have earned it. Marti didn’t. The quality of squad now is unrecognisable from what he inherited. Perhaps Nourry deserves more credit than he gets on here for that and calling Marti’s bluff and risking that he could find better, but MC deserves some gratitude too.

I thought he got the flow of the game right, and he must be relieved he obviously couldn’t hear Bobby DCR’s non-stop whining.

Ayew holding his face…none of his own team seemed at all sympathetic!

Yep, in our years of struggle (Spring 2022-Autumn 2025), we would be lucky to get the ball within 10 yards of the opposition goal once every 15 minutes. Now it’s pinging around there all the time.

King Richard I was so taken with the grub on Crusades that he decreed that his manor of Sheppards Bushe be thrown open to all manner of Levantine dining options.

There was a spell in the second half when the whole team went flick-crazy, like they’d brought back the Charleston.

View from our seats, back of block 222. But different from half way line two thirds back in the SBS!
