I was just correcting a poster who's talking about Hayden having a "contact injury". He'll be fine for Friday and then Varane should be back in next couple weeks if the timeline remains the same. Morgan and Isak then after that

Agree about LB cover, I mentioned that in a previous post

Really good point about Ronnie, didn't look out of place in the midfield last year vs Leeds. Be interesting to see how JS fits him in going forward

As per WLS. Field to Norwich would be loan with permanent option in the summer. Derby have also made late offer

Hayden came off due to fatigue and is fine, per Julien's post match

As for the rest, I don't know, you've got a very interesting imagination as always Wombat

It is all opinions I agree, just find some things go into a bit of hyperbole, the difference in player won't be as wide as is suggested sometimes. It's like I had to deal with a fan in upper loft just shouting "weak" and how unfit the team was any time we lost a challenge in the 2nd half vs Coventry. It's been the case recently but I thought we were great in the 2nd after going 1-0 down.

My biggest worry would be the versatility, Field can cover LB and CB also and is a great player to bring up late to shore things up. In essence the perfect squad player which is why I think it's coming from Field himself who may want more minutes. Perhaps you're right by saying it's his peak value but if he's going out on loan as is rumoured, I'm not sure how much we'll be getting for that

Find it wild that in a league with £millions on the line we have to account for referee bias with game changing decisions like this. Like posters said before, Smyth does go down a lot and definitely has a reputation, that shouldn't have any bearing on what I thought was stonewall. In the Prem with VAR that is given all day

WLS would have confirmed both so not sure about that. I think it was posted in another thread about club targeting certain positions and profiles that are in demand from the top clubs, I'm sure DMs with great physical profile was one that is mentioned. Teams will take a gamble on the likes of a Varane for his potential, if the rumoured 5m fee was correct that's more than a 5x on the original fee.

I don't think Field has shown anything this season to show he's better than Varane right now but that's irrelevant. I get he's not liked on here but a lot of the talk feels disparaging and like we're talking about a Sunday league player sometimes. Seems like a popular player in the squad and still young, not a wrongen so I don't get it

Isn't it well publicised we've rejected bids from Espanyol and St Etienne?

I know there will be anger but any thought that Field may be the one pushing for a move? He's 27 and needs regular football which he isn't getting, Norwich will be a good move for him and especially for their situation in a relegation battle. He's firmly behind Hayden and Varane in his position now, we had Isak on the bench the other day and rejected offer for Morgan so perhaps they feel that's enough - maybe naive but time will tell. I'd hope it's clearing some wage for an incoming at least

Scary thing is that he's probably still finding his feet having not been a regular since October. Clear to see why he was so highly rated in the academy days, his technical ability is top, creativity and linkup today was great. I thought Illy would get straight back into this team but he might end up having some competition here

Give him the POTS award now, what a season this man is having.

Also glad at least in my area in the upper loft that "used to be shite, now he's alright" was taken out of his chant, he deserves a lot better than that

Perhaps it is trusting. I didnt see the positives in not disclosing injury information like before and I'm just glad that the club has addressed this by becoming a lot more transparent. I dont think they're lying if they give an initial predicted return date, but due to set backs / delays the date changes. Injuries are dynamic and not the same for everyone, it can't be easy to predict exactly

The injury situation is poor I agree, not least for our position in the league but also for the club's MO, the players wont develop and increase in value by being sat on the medical table. Whether its normal, I've counted 6/7 other Championship clubs with the same amount or more injuries. So definitely below average but still other clubs are being struck with the same endemic

We need cover in this position but let's be honest, Bannan isn't joining anyone to be cover. I'm taking Madsen all day currently

Yep, just so people know, this was started by a random EFL fan account on X with an AI image of Sterling in a QPR kit with the quote "he wants to stay in London". Sooo that'll be Fulham or riding out his 325k a week deal with Chelsea B for the next 18 months..

Well I'll put my hands up as I've criticised WLS in the recent past however when it comes to updates such as transfers or injuries I'm fairly certain they complete their due diligence and are 100% trustworthy when it comes to this. I don't think they'll be played around switching from he's available, to potentially not available in 24 hours as some sort of master ploy, I'm sure he has had a knock in that time (not that unbelievable) and we'll see on Friday

I know you've mentioned the Chair injuries and that timeline, however I'm sure he was in a bunch of training videos and content around that time of the original return date, I think he's just redone or suffered a new injury after that. Rotten rotten luck as we've needed him and his creativity in recent weeks

How could you explain that WLS posted just yesterday that Obikwu was in line to make his debut on Saturday? I'm sorry I just feel like a lot of this is a massive stretch and overread

Why? It was only a few weeks ago he was getting MOTM awards for completely shutting down some the of leagues premier wingers in Mavididi and Demarai Gray, just as an example. A stupid moment doesn't erase any of these games for me
