Oh, that’s easy. It represents the ‘iconic pink and black colourway associated with Elvis Presley’s breakthrough years on the Louisiana Hayride’.
Obvious, innit.
Edit: For clarification (sort of), it’s something to do with Sunderland fans’ matchday anthem Can’t Help Falling In Love. On that basis, shouldn’t our next kit feature a ‘silver lining’? [Post edited 1 Nov 17:10]

I’m another one who never knew Ted personally, only through LFW, but since discovering the forum (belatedly compared to the vast majority of you), I soon learned that his forthright comments and opinions were always worth seeking out.
I particularly enjoyed his contributions to the music threads and would love to know more about how his tastes evolved, although that’s maybe for another day.
Meanwhile it goes without saying that my thoughts, for what they’re worth, are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
I hope it doesn’t sound flippant but I do hope that he was able to experience some joy in his last days following last Saturday’s 5-0 win. |

Won’t quote the piece again to save space, but just to say I’ve had to have a lie down after reading it. Talk about going the extra mile. Quite remarkable and a thoroughly interesting insight into the process.
I do have one criticism though, which relates to point 4 (Sunday morning): You talk about having a bacon sandwich - so far, so good - ‘with lots of sauce’.
Now this raises more questions than answers and I don’t mind admitting I’m not entirely clear about one fundamental point: would this be red sauce or brown sauce?
I think we should be told. |
