Here's an u old fashioned idea, have a pop and see if the keeper spills it for someone Burrell shaped to poke home. It felt like too many times Madson and Vale passed up opportunities to see if a shot would cause havoc.
I'm curious to know what that tall guy in yellow the other side of the net from us does for a living.
similarly, at Ellerslie Road they bag- checked on a table that was jammed up agaisnt the wall with 3 or 4 stewards doing the checks and queues 2 or 3 deep. After the cursory peep inside the bag people at the end by the wall had to fight through all the other bag checks, there was no way out for them.
Such a wonderful knack for shit space design and ergonomics !
My Father in law is an absolute diamond, in his late 70s he was a season ticket holder and during COVID out of the blue, Andy Sinton rigns and has a long long chat about ..football from previous eras among other great "how are you bearing up" things.
Father in law still around thanksfully but had to give up the season ticket in his 80-s
Stefan prover two things last night. He can manage the selection with a view to the fixture pile up, though the real proof of that pud will come from - say 7 points from 9 by next Wednesday. The second thing was our defence is stronger than your attack.
We weren't "clinging on", we were comfortable other than when Cirkin (freshly on, still looking for the left touch line) and Saito (knackered and battered) allowed them too much space for the cut inside and the easy curler into the far corner. Other than that, for 10 + added we gave them two thirds of the pitch and they couldn't really achieve anything in the final third.
More of a concern before the subs was the yawning chasm between Madsen and our two strikers. Robertson for Cardiff had the freedom of Loftus Road in that gap and spent all first half spraying passes out wide to their left, getting them out of defence and into our fullbacks with ease.
Salamone was particularly poor, they gobbled up and disrupted anything he kicked to the halfway, his short up the middle passing was read and intercepted a couple of times and there were multiple spillages and his name autocorrects to Calomine… made me itchy watching
I forgot, influencers were they? I had no [f word] idea what the [unacceptable language] that pile of embarrasment at half time was about and I'm pretty sure Morissey didn't either. Something about them spending a year receiving chunks of cash to see if the could fake it as professional footballers? Then the utter cluelessness of the two muppets not sure what to do faced with a football, a row of poles and three nets beyond them. Bring back the under 10s touchline relay!
Great analysis as always, we were certainly at the same game.
Ronnie's diags, a match long fusilade, were masterful but how often does your heart have to sink watching the intended recipient backaway from the pitch of the ball to watch it sail over his head or strike him on the chin. Simple stuff.
Poor Kealey A tested out a radical idea in the first few minutes - passing forward. They didn't come off, no one in a hooped shirt was interested in any 50-50 contest or retrieving a misplaced pass but rather than applaud the adventure, he got baracked. Someone behind me in T Block even swore. No wonder he reverted threafter to the tamest most cautious back passes and learned nothing.
I was gifted membership for Chrimbo, Official Patron + AKUTRs Subscription. I got an email notification about a podcast on 27th Jan, otherwise, nothing. What am i missing?
How many times was the game stopped mid play for someone feigning brain trauma brought on by acute embarrassment. The ref, as has been observed in recent match reports, totally lost his grip on the game.
It might have been a one off but he showed up for Burnley in 2008, got a verbal roasting from the Ellerslie faithful and proceeded to bang in a hattrick turning 2-1 into 4-2. When he was subbed towards the end he got an ovation from all sides.
You can see him in the celebration of the first goal Shhhhh'ing R Block
2 dress rehearsals for their goal had Hamer nailed both times, baffles me why he didn't organise someone to deal with Johnston. Ref right not to give a foul, Hamer was never going to convince with that theatrical buckle of the knees from a mild block.
it's one of the joys of being abroad for an away game, being able to legitimately cough £10 and watch the game. It has worked well for me in numerous locations. Any further comment may be incriminating!
