The rules of draws state that without payment into the society then you are not entered, what I have personally done at many other clubs and still do to this day when collecting rounds is have a "float" myself and pay in for the member and then get it back the next time I call thus ensuring they are in the draw and I have a record of who owes what. I also check with all my customers so they know this and if any prefer to not be in the draw if I miss them that week then I mark it into my walking order book.

I work on the basis of a £20 float from myself - If collecting fortnightly you will invariably miss an average of 10% so lets say 5 members per week as Dale1963 said, I pay them in and get the money back and never let anyone go over 4 weeks owed. Over a year this brings in an additional £260 but, from a personal point of view it also gives the agent £39 "interest" on their float while still having their original float money - much better interest than the banks and still doing the same amount of knocking as not getting paid

If an agent of mine then comes into the office and says "Mrs Jones has moved and she owes £4" and shows me the records they have from their walking order book I pay them back as a bad debt less the commission they have taken on it - dont forget the "real cost" of a member at Dale is the agents commission so it would in reality be virtually no risk for either the club or agent to do this but it also ensures that records are kept!

Hope this makes sense :)

Oh and forgot to mention when I posted this originally - on average I have a max of 6 "bad debts" a year in total from a full lottery from ALL my agents

For those travelling to Morecambe
at 10:38 29 Jul 2017

As a fair few on here know I work at MFC so a few bits for you

If using sat nav, when coming off the M6 the new exit (j34) for the Morecambe junction does not show and is approx 3/4 mile before the old one. so watch out for the signs. When you head off you want to go straight on at the traffic lights at bottom of hill (sat navs will tell you to go left through Lancaster) and then after going across the bridge you will bare left onto the relatively new bypass.

Beware of the roundabout on the bypass, there have been a few accidents on there with people travelling too fast

As you approach Morecambe (college on left) you have a main set of traffic lights, go into the Right Hand lane to turn right down Lancaster Road (access to McDonalds also this way) then left at the roundabout on to Westgate. Just after the fire station is the William Mitchell pub who do free car parking (subject to space). Next right is Westgate primary school who charge £4 per car with all proceeds going to the school.

The match day programme is £2 and covers the 3 pre season games in one issue. On sale outside and also at the kiosks

Safe journey to all :)

Keepers we loved to hate! or just loved?
at 22:26 17 Jan 2017

Harvey Lim "wha you wha you wha you are" - always played with a smile on his face
Neville Southall when at Torquay when we sang for Neil "Taffy" Edwards "Wales Number 1"

Hated Billy Turley (Rushden) - never forgot him reporting my nephew at the play off home leg for having a Dale flag on a pole (as handed out to kids) hanging over the tunnel wall and the flag touched his head !! Loved it when he miskicked and Dale scored

Morecambe
at 07:41 24 Dec 2016

the staff at Morecambe have all been paid 50% of their wages in advance and the rest will be paid on the normal pay date of the 28th with the majority of the board (pre takeover) inc the previous majority shareholder and current chairman Peter McGuigan still involved but without Mr Lemos being involved. He is not replying to calls etc There is a hell of a lot going on in the background behind the scenes and information coming to light.

During the next week a lot will come out as the staff have been told that the FA and EFL are also investigating Mr Lemos and how he passed the "fit and proper persons test" and the evidence that he provided to them and they are assisting MFC board with advice.

Nathan never went to the states - Rampage Brown did.

Works all over with various promotions but is a mainstay with All Star, same as Ligero

Farcical defending of corners

give credit to t'other lot, every set piece has been dangerous and looked like leading to a chance. We get a corner and its a case of "oh well". The need for a decent set piece taker is so obvious

Blackpool Parking Problems tomorrow!
at 02:25 15 Aug 2015

literally a 5 min walk up the road from the ground. You have the Waterloo Road bridge (where Blackpool South Train Station is). Then, at the moment, its normal parking.
Dont forget the protest will be directly opposite the main stand entrance at 2:15 onwards

Blackpool Parking Problems tomorrow!
at 20:19 14 Aug 2015

Chaps, over the last 24 hours we have had travellers pitch up on the Blackpool South car park (for those who know the area, from the Petrol station at the end of Yeadon Way - main way in to the ground) up to Blackpool South Station cutting off most of the car park. Council have issued notice to leave so more have arrived!

Might be worth trying to avoid most of this area for parking if you get my drift !!

Careful on streets near the ground, most are residents only and the parking wardens are all over them at kick off time

For Free parking on streets the best bit is the inland side of Central Drive area.

Hope this helps

what do you want them to say "oh yes we are going to invade the pitch" ? It is now a 'terrorist' campaign, the threats means more security has to be employed thus costing the Company money. Also they do not necessarily know where and when they will hit. Lots of campaigns around the town - things like the Oyston Estates estate agents boards being "rebranded"

By the way, are you all aware that the "away seats" are now BEHIND the goal and not at the side anymore (the North stand where the Kop used to be).

New kits around the league

simply because of black in both kits so if need to change it goes to the sky blue (which is not even for sale in the club shop to my knowledge),
Believe the keepers have three different kits as well !!

It is difficult to put a figure on most transfers as it may well be

(1) Initial fee (paid over 12 months or upfront)
(2) Fee after xx appearances (can be multiple)
(3) Fee after xx Goals (can be multiple)
(4) Fee for team achieving success (eg play offs, play off final, promotion, avoid relegation, cup competition)
(5) Percentage of future transfer fee

Who would have thought the amount Dale received for Rickie when he left would have been so high?

Also people forget that VAT is charged on transfer fees (yes the HMRC get their cut as well !!!!)
