In the first half, I think that the stats showed that our passing was actually worse than 'ordinary'.

This is where Julien has to show what he is made of.
Changes that enable us to hold on to the ball would be a good start.

Could someone get a message to the QPR players on the pitch?
"Our players are in green and white."

Early win at Fratton Park comes at horrible cost to QPR and Gallen – History
at 12:21 24 Dec 2025

I have never forgotten that, after scoring that goal and getting injured, Kevin Gallen - on his feet but leaning on a colleague - was interviewed by Sky at the end of the match. Injuries are taken more seriously today.

Could we go up.
at 10:35 21 Dec 2025

Of course, we could make it into the play-offs and once in that little competition, anything could happen. If, somehow, we won the play-offs and got promoted (later in the calendar than the clubs promoted automatically, incidentally - a disadvantage for the play-off winner) we would find ourselves with a massive recruitment challenge and one that would be different from that of recent years. No longer would we be looking for young cast-offs, or, rough diamonds that could be polished for sale, but for players with experience of the demands of the Premier League, to blend with those who got us there. Staying up would be very tough indeed.

The best football played by QPR.
at 11:35 17 Dec 2025

I think I may remember that Liverpool game.
I was in the SAR Stand, with a friend who was a Liverpool fan. Sir Les was, indeed, causing the Liverpool defence some problems.
My friend asked 'Who's that No 9? He looks good.'
I replied, 'He's called Les Ferdinand and he could be really good if he wasn't so laid back.'
Oh dear.
Thankfully, he soon became anything but 'laid back'.

Agreed and he was also 'sticky' as a defender. No one could get by him easily.

" listen to Sints on Comms and adjust the plan from what he is seeing"
Maybe.
It's a very old suggestion of mine, but, I do not think that the manager gets a very good view of the game from the dugout and the technical area. Great for passing messages and giving instructions during breaks in play, but not much good for anything else. Someone needs to be sitting somewhere higher up, where there is a better view of the entire pitch and he/she can provide some input on the pattern of play.

Late goals and wild celebrations at Loftus Road......
at 09:56 12 Dec 2025

Lots of wonderful late goals (OK 'some') of course.
I particularly enjoyed Paul Furlong's goal against Oldham, near the end of that play-off semi-final. I was sitting a few seats behind Les Ferdinand and Clive Wilson in the SAR Stand. They enjoyed that goal too. The noise when we scored was wonderful.
I also enjoyed that Jamie Mackie goal against Liverpool, which turned a 0-2 deficit into a 3-2 win in the last 15 minutes. Liverpool had been strolling around as if they just wanted to get on the bus and go home. Then came the fight-back.

"our only mistake being an inability to put the game away earlier."

Fair comment, Euroranger.

I have tried to imagine what the score would have been if we had not taken wild, over-optimistic shots and had taken advantage of at least one free-kick from a decent position. That was a great win, but, there are some lessons to be learned when the squad watch the replay of that match. Could we, at least, work out how to take advantage of a free-kick just outside the box?

Gaffer on tonight's win
at 09:31 10 Dec 2025

JS commented that 'we won the game physically'.
Elsewhere, I read that the Birmingham manager also thought that we were 'physical' and that we were a team of big players.
OK, like Smyth, Dembele and Saito?

A lot of truth about today's football in that interview. But, he has a book to sell.

FA Cup Draw Monday Evening

I think they may have scored first. Pop Robson? Then came the onslaught. Lovely. Mrs Kernowhoop (not a football fan) came to 'keep me company'. Think she must have concluded that winning usually came easily for QPR after that.

Not the first time we have been away to WHU in the FA Cup.
I remember a draw at Upton Park and a 6-1 win in the replay at Loftus Road.
More of that, please.

If you were to declare your street to be a nation (best to get the other residents' approval first) you might be able to have a go, but not until the 2030 World Cup.
