Sympathy for much that has been posted here, but - serious question - why do we (some of us) think that we know better than the professional management at QPR? |

That was so frustrating. A joy to watch most of the Rs' football (these days, we are undeniably an attacking team, from the goalkeeper onwards) and we out-classed Charlton. Trouble is, the imagination and guile that gets us into the final third, goes missing when the final pass or shot is required. Not sure how coaching should deal with this, but there must be stats to learn from and videos of the way other teams deal with the problem. If we crack that, we have every reason to be optimistic. |

When we moved in June, I simply told our insurance company about the impending change of address and the need for cover on the new house from exchange and it was arranged. They were used to doing that. |

Yes, Lblock. The coaching rarely gets a mention, but one of the reasons for Julien Stephan being appointed was his known ability to bring on young players. Kevin Betsy, also mentioned here, must contribute, too. I do not pretend to know how all this is done in periods when we play six games in 15 days - and just getting the team recovered and prepared for the next match has to be the priority - but somehow it is being achieved. |

Julien is preparing the team for playing on a big pitch. I liked the sound of that - we have a few players that can ping the ball about accurately and one or two brisk front-runners.
Hope they have also taken account of the weather forecast. |

A few of those observations, I have no experience of, but the great majority - sadly - are spot-on. We spend a lot of time in SW France (others here recommend it) where, thankfully, Brits abroad do not display the characteristics that Juzzie describes. The worst of it is embarrassing and - personal view - it is possibly at its worst when English football fans go abroad and full of beer, impose themselves noisily on somewhere civilised, to the bewilderment and annoyance of the locals. |

KensalT's stats about the on-target shots missed (four missed penalties, then, in the next match, 10 missed or saved) are remarkable. The penalties against Millwall were pathetic, but Kone's one-on-one with the Bolton keeper was the big surprise. Most of us would have bet on him burying that one. It is, however, what happens to strikers - even very good ones. Stick with him. Encourage him. It will come right, then we shall see him score not just the 'easy' ones, but even better ones, that will remind us of what he can do. |

There is probably little that can be done about the language except, perhaps, when it is racial abuse. The supporters with limited, but colourful, vocabulary are a reflection of the world beyond Loftus Road.
As for bringing very young children into that environment, I do not understand it. I did not go to a professional match until I was 10 and I did not go to Loftus Road until I was 12. Up to the age of 10, I would not have been able to see very well from the terraces, nor would I have understood enough of what was happening on the pitch.
If you bring a child to a match before they are able to appreciate it - even in a limited way - you risk putting them off repeating the experience. As for bringing a babe in arms... ??? |

Have just watched Schumacher's pre-match interview with Bolton News. Very open about his players. Very positive. Loves coming to Loftus Road (was he in charge of Plymouth when, with nine men, they held us to a 0-0 draw?) More than one mention of their game plan - which sounds like putting a lot of energy into it and not letting us play- and particular mention of how to stop Ilias.
This game does not sound easy. |

Mrs Kernowhoop and I were in the front row of SAR Stand. West Ham scored first (Pop Robson, I think), but, they had pulled the tiger's tail...

I share the widely-held cautious optimism, but, I would be more confident if we had un-earthed an ugly brute of a ball winner in midfield, of whom expectations were quite limited. Spot what is happening. Break up play (theirs). Win the ball. Pass it short to one of your clever midfield colleagues and ... away we go. |
