Fair enough To be honest I've only seen him play twice this season, against Liverpool in the cup when he looked pretty good and Preston when the whole team looked a disorganized rabble He's probably one of the few that we might get our money back on |

Wouldn't be surprised if Edwards went back to QPR on a permanent transfer Did really well there last season and won their player of the year Shame if it happens as he's not really had a run of games here and offers a lot more than Nathan Wood imo |

Is this the same "great recruitment team" that signed Damion Downs and George Long? Much as you're right I think you'll be disappointed, I can't see much happening unless we can move on a few players and id be very surprised if that happens |

Don't even want to contemplate losing at their hovel The estate I live on and the town is full of the fookers A spineless performance and defeat would probably be the tipping point even for our rather mild fanbase |

I agree with the attacking football Problem is that we can't keep that up for 90 minutes, against Charlton, Birmingham and West Brom the change in the second half was rather alarming. In the West Brom game in particular we were lucky to hang on when we should have coasted to the final whistle. Whether that's down to the quality of players brought on, the thought process and tactics or general fitness of the squad is open to debate Personally, I'm not a fan of 5 at the back, we don't have the right players to play that system and you're also giving the opposition the advantage of an extra man in the midfield. Its all well and good having supposedly better players but you have to earn the right to play the way we want to in this division and as we've seen today and certainly at Millwall a few weeks ago the tactics employed haven't worked |

To be fair to TE he's taken over a club that's in bit of a mess A large, bloated squad that still has some glaring gaps in it I've already accepted that we'll finish somewhere in mid table this season, it's all about trying to gain some momentum for next season and hopefully getting our signings right in the summer. If I remember correctly Aribo, McCarthy, Fraser and Stewart are out of contract and I'd be happy to see Archer, Downes, Harwood-Bellis and Armstrong moved on As I said in another thread I think he needs an experienced assistant and staff around him, I've just had a look at the staff listed on the website and have no idea who any of them are or what they do I had doubts as to the wisdom of appointing TE, but nows he manager the club should give him the best chance to succeed and imo that means giving him some experienced support and removing some of the players who are possibly creating a toxic atmosphere in the club Unfortunately its going to take some time and with three tough games coming up I can't see things changing for the better in the near future |
 | Forum Reply | Did we appoint Tonda too early? at 17:24 26 Dec 2025
He needs an experienced assistant imo, ie someone who knows this league and what you have to do to grind out results From what I can see the rest of his staff are from his U21 set up |

Personally id rather use our spare loan slot to bring in someone from a prem team A striker from league 1 would be another potential gamble, Charlie Kelman was prolific for Orient last season and my QPR supporting pals are still laughing that Charlton paid them 5 million for him Kone would have been a decent buy, doing well at Rangers from what they tell me |

I'm doing well thank you Still try and meet up with our little crew when down for a match, having said that the last time I saw them all was at Wembley for the play off final My old man is doing well, slowly recovering from a knee opp and the Preston game was his first in a while Hope all is well with you and yours L |

Probably the same for me too, loved watching us that season, great team playing great football in my favorite home kit Beating Spurs after Hoddle and Dean Richards had gone there at St Marys was very satisfying too Special mention too for a home win against Chelsea in the early 90's, Paul Allen and Frankie Bennett scored and it was highly amusing seeing some old Chelsea supporting lump repeatedly punching a bus stop in frustration on Archers Road after the game |

Having looked it up Wright and Cassells were a double swap deal for George Lawrence and Trevor Hebberd Was probably a bit too young to appreciate how good Mark Wright was That cup semi final was my first "away" game. A Spurs supporting uncle got me, my dad and brother tickets on the lower tier of the new posh stand Don't remember a lot about the day as I was 11 but Wright breaking his leg and Kevin Bond not getting enough on a header back to Shilton and Ian Rush nipping in to score do stick out Thinking back we never really laid a glove on them and did well to get to extra time but I may well be wrong about that |

I remember thinking the same thing when watching Kenwynne Jones in Nuremberg against England in 2006 |

Am I right in remembering Neil Ruddock running the full length of the pitch to head butt Craig Short in a game at the Dell against Notts County in the early 90's? |

He was sat in the seats along with Gem Archer closest to the stage Slipped in quietly just before they came on Meant to add in my original post that the support Mozart Estate were really good too. I read the biography about Lawrence and wanted to see his band, also Forever Breathes The Lonely Word by Felt is an excellent lp Shame it was £8.50 a pint though |

Steve Basham There’s also an obscure fullback but as a newcomer here I don’t want to tread on some else’s toes |

Born in Guildford, grew up in Woking but my dad’s side of the family are all from Southampton, my grandad lived on Padwell Road until the start of the Second World War. First game was 82 at home to Colchester in the milk cup Didn’t really feel that I had a choice or wanted to choose anyone else as Saints are the team my family support and one of our ancestors played for St Mary’s Had a season ticket for many years and still go to games with my dad who’s been going since the late 50s |

I was at the gig too, front row of the seats 5 away from Noel Gallagher and his entourage Thought it was a great gig, played loads from Waterpistol and Hms Fable Last saw them in Brighton in 2007 but never thought I’d see them play live again |
