Dean Holden has made his move to Spotland a permanent one in a deal which also sees Neal Trotman join the Spireites for good.

The loan deal which saw Holden and Trotman switch clubs was certainly one of the most successful transfers that former manager Steve Eyre did during his brief time in charge, and that switch is now a permanent one.

Salford born Holden will now join Dale until the end of the season after we took over his contract with Chesterfield, whilst the Spireites will take over the remaining eighteen months on Trotman's deal.

Holden has impressed since joining the club, most notably in Monday's home game with Preston.
