![]() Thursday, 5th Jan 2012 22:24 by Tim Whelan Leeds confirmed today that Patrick Kisnorbo has been ruled out for the rest of the season with the knee injury he suffered against Burnley on Monday. This is another severe blow for the 30 year-old, who only returned to the side in May after spending over 12 months out with a hamstring problem. At least his latest problem isn’t a recurrence of his previous injury, but at his age you have to wonder if he will ever get back to full fitness and the standards he showed during our League One promotion season. Simon Grayson told the official website "We’ve had the unfortunate news that Paddy has suffered ligament damage and has been ruled out for the rest of the season. It's a big blow for the club and for Paddy after the injury he has just recovered from." At the start of the season I thought we had plenty of cover in the central defensive area of the squad, but now we are fast running out options in those positions. As well as Paddy being out we also lost Bruce during the Burnley game, as his comeback ended with a hamstring injury. Bromby and Lees we already missing before that match, although Lees might be fit enough to start training again by the end of the week. And with O’Brien having already ruled himself out of contention in mysterious circumstances, that leaves O’Dea as our one remaining fully fit central defender. Grayson has confirmed that he is looking for a bit of defensive cover while the transfer window is open, and we enquired about a couple of players before the Burnley game although the club didn’t manage to finalise any deals. We need to start picking up points soon and we can’t afford any more defensive disasters like the Barnsley game, so if we need reinforcements at the back let’s hope Simon can get something sorted out soon.
