Swans In Crisis: YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Home > Story Index >Swansea City - A Club On The Edge

Today we learn that QPR's share of the gate money, believed to be £11000 was issued by cheque and then that particular cheque was stopped by Tony Petty. This on top of money that is still owed to Reading regards the loan spell of Nathan Tyson and you have a football club that is in serious trouble through what we can see is nothing other than mis-management.
Normally this time on a Friday we find ourselves in the situation of writing a preview for the Saturday game. What is the point of this if the football club dies? There isn't one so this takes the place of that preview for this week. Rumours around the city suggest that tomorrow could easily be the last game in the history of Swansea City. Tony Petty and Mike Lewis between them have managed to take this club to the edge.
Forget the consortium, what can you - the ordinary fan do? The local media have sat on the fence, restricted by some things but it is time to bombard them with concern. The judge - he handed the club back to Petty, he needs telling. The FA of Wales - silent in what they have done - contact them on 02920 372325.
We are hearing stories of alleged misdoings at the club and anyone who thinks they may have information/proof regards this should contact Lyn Phillips, Football Liason Officer at Swansea Central Police Station on 01792 456999. Lyn will ensure that any details are passed onto the relative investigation officers.
Swansea City is a club on it's knees and I don't want to be melodramatic about this. We are a bigger club than the last 10 years would suggest and we are also bigger than the likes of Tony Petty and Mike Lewis. We cannot afford to let this club die and I urge that all fans do their bit, no matter how small, to help.
The news that QPR and Reading are owed money by our football club is further proof of escalating debts at the club, debts that have increased by over £100,000 this week after the inervention of the PFA to ensure that our players were paid what they were owed from December. The Western Mail reported that the PFA will also cover the next two month's wages.
There were heavy rumours this afternoon that Mike Lewis was preparing the last rites of Swansea City. Days that we thought we would never see again after witnessing them in 1985. Sorry guys, but we are almost there again.
The wages become due again at the end of January - anyone got any ideas how Petty is planning to fund this little lot this time? There are people out there ready to step in and save this club and they are people that care.

SWANSEA CITY MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO DIE - THE FOOTBALL CLUB DIES A PART OF THIS CITY DIES WITH IT - AND IT IS A BIGGER PART THAN PEOPLE WOULD LIKE YOU TO BELIEVE.
