Roberto Martinez admits that he is excited by his new strike pairing of Jason Scotland and Stephen Dobbie

Dobbie will complete his move to the Liberty Stadium at the end of the week and Martinez admits that he is ready to unleash both strikers on the Championship next season - allowing them to link up again after previously playing together for St Johnstone.

Speaking to the Evening Post the Swans boss said "You are talking about two players who can understand each other fantastically well.

"They were together at St Johnsone and they know each other really well.  I have seen a couple of old DVDs and they looked to have a great understanding then.   We hope to rekindle that and polish it.

"I would say Jason can only play that central role or just in behind as a shadow striker.  But Stephen can play centrally on his own, he can play with another striker or he can play out wide.

"He is a clinical finisher who can play in any position up front.  We are delighted to have got him.  We have been following Stephen for a long time and he fits Swansea City's criteria.

"He is a great technical player he is in the perfect moment of his career at 26 and he has the hunger and desire we want to bring into our dressing room.

"He left Rangers as a young player to join Hibernian for £300,000.  At that time it seemed he wasn't ready for the challenge but now he is desperate to take his opportunity and score goals at the highest level.

"I believe he has the ability to do that and that he will fulfil his Premier League potential with us.   You can imagine there was a lot of interest

"Stephen has scored 40 goals in the last two seasons and we are delighted to capture him on a free transfer."
