![]() Wednesday, 29th Dec 2010 14:34 Swansea City have failed in their appeal to overturn Alan Tate's red card at QPR Tate was sent off for what the referee indicated to be a head butt at QPR on Boxing Day and the Swans lodged an appeal meaning that Tate could lead the side in the absence of Garry Monk on Tuesday. But the defender will now miss three games, starting against Reading on Saturday after a FAW Statement read "The claim is rejected and Alan Tate is to be suspended with immediate effect for the three-match standard punishment" Tate though did not face an increased ban which could have been imposed had the committee decided.
