![]() Friday, 4th Jan 2008 13:05 Manager Geraint Williams has confirmed that the club has made six bids to sign players in the current transfer window. One of these is already know to be an offer for Luton Town’s Chris Coyne, and another is believed to be for Northampton Town’s 20-year-old midfielder Bradley Johnson. Also a bid for Southend’s Adam Barrett was rejected last week. Speaking in today’s Evening Gazette, Williams said: "In this day and age, what happens is that you make these bids and you know that you're not going to get every target. "You target the players you want in priority and you make your bids. I cannot see six players coming in - but we have made six bids." Williams has also confirmed that the club has received interest in some of its own players, but as yet not official bids have been received, saying: "We've not had anything in writing but we have received phone calls."
