![]() Monday, 29th Dec 2008 16:05 Will Grayson suffer seaside snub? Although there has been no official word on the subject understandably, the speculation that Simon Grayson may want his backroom staff from Bloomfield Road in Tony Parkes and Steve Thompson to follow him may be way off the mark. At the weekend, the pair strongly threw their hat into the ring for Grayson's old job, their wish is to see Parkes head a new management team at Blackpool. Parkes who during a lengthy spell at Blackburn Rovers took temporary charge on no-less than SIX occasions fancies a crack at being a manager in his own right, and gets another chance to show off his credentials against Wolves tonight (Monday) after drawing 1-1 at Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day. Parkes said: "Myself and Steve want the job and from our point of view the situation is black and white." Thompson echoed Grayson's much vaunted return to the club he supported and played-for (albeit briefly) as a reason for wanting to stay at Blackpool, the club he loves. He explained "I am a local lad and I am just as excited doing what I'm doing now as Simon (Grayson) probably is at Leeds." The pair were talking to the Blackpool Gazette yesterday.
