If we were going for loan signings why couldn't we have signed Connor Wickham? I would have been happy with Wickham to partner Doyle.
We are really going to struggle for goals. Serves the club right for not addressing the situation in the summer and putting all those money grabbing bums on high salaries.

I would say a 7, more for quantity than quality. All are a bit of a chance for different reasons but some should come good. We certainly have options up front and can make like for like subs. We also have insurance against future injuries. | | | |

I think I'll give it a 5 - meaning I'm neither excited nor suicidal and have no idea how some of these players will work out.
Doyle is sort of a less crocked Johnson
This Maiga fellow could do ok at this level who knows - interesting that it's a loan with a view to a permanent which I think is better.
The Keane lad didn't do much at Wigan so my expectations aren't that high - impact sub sort of thing. I notice he's joined with a dead leg. 
Aaron Hughes gets more shit than he deserves, but I'd far rather we'd have gone for an attacking RB. But he will give a useful extra bit of height on our fcuking horrendous corners and has some versatility.
Donaldson - no chance we'll see him this season.

You seem to be of the opinion that if we want a player we can just sign them.
I'm very happy with Doyle especially as it's a loan. A chance for him to reignite his career and nothing little risk to us.
I think our style of play will have to alter now we don't have Austin up front but this might not be a bad thing.

A Brazilian who the manager has never seen, West Hams worst player, a youngster from Utd ????
Why can't we be normal, try giving the youngsters we already have a bit of coaching and experience ??? What's wrong with Hithcock or Harriman.... surely they deserve a chance. Surely it's better for the club to improve our youngsters rather than increase our wage bill with somebody else's youngsters??? |  | | |

7 out of 10 for me as well.
We don't know exactly what happened with our targets their clubs and personal demands in these hectic last days / hours of the transfer period.
The fact that annoys me is that we left it late like always, while others like Derby with Bamford already are hitting the ground running due to doing business early.
People forget that it will take time for certain players to fit in the squad and we are not known for being the most patience kind of fans which will make it hard for new players.
Remember some on here were slagging off Austin and Philips as well because they didn't made a big impact right away.
Just hope we give the new players a chance to impress us.
On the players :
Hughes: Back up for Simpson and CB on a free (except wages) for the rest of the season sounds good to me, need to impress to earn a new contract. Sensible choice and a needed one.
Dellatore: don"t know nothing about him, is he really a better player than Hitchcock or or Skapetis ?
Keane: see Dellatore
Doyle: Got a similar Austin style, no impressive figures the last two seasons but there still has to be a good striker in him somewhere. Only on loan, so needs to impress as well
Maiga: WHU fans all to glad getting rid of him, but think he could be in the department ones loss others gained department and may well surprise some. Also on loan so must show he has pedigree to earn a contract with us.
Finally i am a bit sad we didn't manage to get Diame from WHU cause I think it's just the player we are missing in the middle of the pitch.
But this was never easy to pull off and we don't know where the player stand in all of this.
All in all could be better could be much worse.

Probably because our Manager with years of experience at the top of our game does not think they are ready or good enough . |  | | |
