One big marketing own-goal 17:37 - Dec 21 with 22863 viewstony_roch975

BBC Football website this evening reads "Hill concerned at fan discontent". Whatever your opinion, between the (minority) boos on Saturday, the interminable thread on the KH post match comments and those comments themselves, we've managed a cracking marketing own-goal. Bit pointless complaining about the club's weakness in the PR & Marketing areas as happens ad infinitum on this forum and then in a stroke creating an impression of a disunited, unwelcoming club which players & fans (existing and future) are far less likely to want to be part of. Time for all concerned to learn a bit of perspective - or time to bang a few heads together!!

Is it not a case of printing deadlines over the Xmas period? Can't imagine much would have been done after the middle of last week, and an effortless feature like that would be music to their ears. As would a statement by the Chairman.

The Crewe report would normally have been on the two pages where the interview is. At the point that game was postponed you'd like to think they'd choose to avoid returning to a situation they themselves admitted had created "a stir". Surely the local paper don't want to have a negative impact on what the club is trying to protect, nurture and improve?

(again it's worth reading the article before the post above!)

To read it would mean dignifying the rag by buying it (unless someone can provide a link?)

Can't blame the messenger, nevertheless. Newspaper's job is to sell papers. No one's accused them of lying, nor even of putting a negative spin on his comments. He's a journalist's wet dream!
