Great idea for a thread but hardly any are one hit wonders. Soft Cell had about ten hits for example. How about I'm in love with a German Filmstar. The Passions wasn't it?

tut tut Jack, I've already copped an apology. My original thought re one hit wonder forgetting they'd scored a number of hits in the UK. I had that Marc Almond in the back of my Uber once....

The Passions were great, but that was as big a hit as "Is Vic There?"

I believe John Otway used to introduce "Really Free" by saying "I will now play a medley of my hit."
John Otway. An absolute legend.
'I'm the urban spaceman' by the Bonzo Dog Band. This great wacky jazz/rock band from the 60's and 70's made a few albums and one or two other singles but as far as I know this was their only hit. Magic stuff!
There aint half been some clever bastards.

Did "Postcard", "The Intro and The Outro", "Hunting Tigers Down In India", "Can Bluemen Sing the Whites', "Death Cab For Cutie" and "My Pink Half of the Drainpipe" not ever make it into the charts?
All classics.
Why does it feel like R'SWiPe is still on the books? Yer Couldn't Make It Up.Well Done Me!

Apologies Boston, I should have worked my way through the whole thread first mate. I noticed several others though, not just Soft Cell.

I was going to nominate "Another Girl, Another Planet" by The Only Ones but when I googled them to check they didn't have any other hits I found the damn thing wasn't a hit at all, peaking at 57 when re-released years later when the (very triffic indeed) Sound of The Suburbs compilation album came out.
Which makes The Only Ones the greatest ever Not A Hit Wonders. (No Hit Wonders are a different category, with I suppose Led Zep at the top since they never released singles.)
The Only Ones, and then Peter Perrett have been chugging along for years now. Some great tracks across several albums. The Peel Sessions are a good listen as well.
Coincidentally, Peter Perrett has just released what is effectively his first solo album, How the West Was Won.
