All anyone really cares about is what is the record for difference between oldest and youngest person in the team and do we break it if BBM comes on while Adshead is on the pitch 😂

I think the idea was that the pitch last season was meant to be the pitch to last all this season too so there would be no need to have it torn up at the end of the season.

The pitch as it stands definitely seems to be cutting up more than last season. I think the Lincoln game summed it up. First half, Dale played reasonably well the ball was running fairly smoothly on the pitch, second half with the pitch cutting up playing on the deck became very difficult and Dale found it difficult to string two passes together.

Agreed. We were assured when the pitch was laid that it would last until summer 2018, therefore relaying it like usual last summer would've been seen as a needless extra expense. Clearly, it hasn't worked out as the company who we dealt with assured us, so I think the fault lies more with them than with the board. That's assuming that we didn't neglect to perform the necessary after-care as another poster alluded to.

If we are going back to a sand-based pitch, maybe someone ought to get these guys in for a chat, particularly bearing in mind the local weather conditions. Seems like Newcastle used it as a result of weather considerations and Bristol City used it because of also playing rugby on it. Also apparently requires less groundwork between games.
