Next manager? on 16:19 - Apr 9 by BAWHoops | It's a veritable who's who of who was hot in The Championship 5 years ago. I do think that we aren't in a position to fanny around with a hot sexy new thing from leagues below or abroad. We need someone who can come in, knows what the situation is and can confidently get to work. The time for a cool, transformative appointment has now passed us by I'm afraid and it's a case of needs must |
"It's a veritable who's who of who was hot in The Championship 5 years ago. " 5 years ago in the Championship you say? Then surely we have to include Redknapp and McLaren on the list then.

To me it makes sense in more ways than one. Hairstyle is an underrated aspect of a managers toolkit and up until now I have been able to dismiss nearly all candidates on this criteria alone. Appleton: no hair= not enough to go on. Pearson: An angy brillo pad= not to be trusted. Sherwood: still a bit diamond lights= outdated But what do I hear... Ainsworth: spectacular fine head of hair. Bouncy, confident strong hair.= could be the man. Now Bircham: legendary QPR hair= Gotta be a winner. There is a lot of criticism for how this club is being run but to me we finally seem to be heading in the right direction.

Whether he gets the job or not (not too many complaints from me). I hope he died his hair blue for the interview!

Bircham interviewed? What can he tell them that they shouldn't already know? Not exactly a stranger, is he?
Next manager? on 22:32 - Apr 9 with 3405 views | WrightUp5hit___ | Not pushing for his appointment, but there is a bit more to Bircham than the cheeky chappie persona. Have spoken to him at length many times over the years, but in particular towards the end of last season, just before the axe fell on Ollie. At that time he was bursting with pride for the youngsters who were pushing into the first team. Only to aware of their deficiencies but big on promoting their good qualities and attitude. He was more than happy to explain his view on the shape and tactics of the team and again, its deficiencies with all to clear examples He ain't just the wind up merchant people remember. Mind you he does love telling that Gerry Taggart story.

Like many, think Bircham could be a good choice. What about similar to solskjaer at Manure - bring him in until end of the season, keep looking at alternatives but give him the job if he turns things around?

Surely the Director of Football should be doing the interviewing! Les Ferdinand should be allowed to bring in who he wants without any pressure from above. He is supposedly head of the 'Football' division of the club - and should be choosing the manager.
