In 2013 I read an article about ownership and top management of US media corporations. Now I'm not sure whether the purpose of the article was Anti Semitic, Pro Arab or just to point out an extraordinary disparity. However propagandist the motive might have been, the information contained therein was easily verifiable. Although this information is now six years old, given the distribution of the results, I would be surprised if it had changed substantially.

The categories in top management were as follows: President, CEO, Founder, Owner, VP and Chairman. The results were that approximately 88% were Jewish,10% White/Non Jewish and 2% were Non White/Non Jewish. Given the relative proportions in the US population of these three groups, this is glaringly disproportionate. It also highlights how little influence and representation African Americans have in the US media.

Obviously, not all of those in the Jewish group are necessarily pro Israel, but I think it would be reasonable to assume that many are. The companies cited have a massive influence on the reporting and portrayal of world events. I am only referring to the US media although one would think that they have far more global reach than those of less influential countries.

My question is, how can we expect to receive an evenhanded view of world events and particularly the Middle East, if the information we are being fed cannot realistically be expected to be unbiased ? Apologies if my pointing this out, or even being rather concerned by it, satisfies any of the criteria currently laid down for Anti Semitism.

The 47 companies cited in the article are listed below:
20th Century Fox
ABC Kids & Family

Reminds me of a similar claim about British media ownership which was incorrect.

Any article making those claims has a clear agenda. And yes, "Da Jooz control da media" is indeed an anti-semitic trope.

You're not grasping what you read.

That refers to under the law of return. A specific case, specific subset of immigration law.

Like it or not the situation is fairly simple.

Jews applying have a very high chance of being accepted - it's not however guaranteed.
Non-Jews are free to apply to move to Israel. Don't have as high a "guarantee" as Jews but can still be accepted.

That's why Israel is a Jewish state in the same way as the UK is a nominal Christian state. Both are melting pots which people of all religions present.

It's ironic really that you're raising all this given commemoration of Farhud within the last week.

You are mental pal. It has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity whether or not someone can become a British citizen. It has everything to do with Judaism whether or not someone can become an Israeli citizen. Strewth!

No it doesn't. Being Jewish doesn't automatically mean you get granted citizenship.

I am fully aware of your family’s beliefs as I have posted in the past. For an atheist you have an unhealthy fixation with the state of Israel which uses religion as the cornerstone of its claim to the land it has assumed at the tremendous cost of another two religious groups.

Race and religion. It's a bit more than "beliefs".

Unhealthy fixation? That's amusing given the people who hate on Israel's rightful existence. Indeed, most of those have zero fvcking clue what Farhud was, which was commemorated last week. People seem to have zero fvcking clue that during the British mandate, the only ethnic group blocked from entering the land were Jews - and that as per census figures, to support the population growth at the time, each Palestinian woman would have had to have had 10 kids per year. People ignore the Jewish history, culture of the land... of which there's zero Palestinian.

I'd suggest learning your history as it's always amusing you fail to comment on the tremendous cost to Jews across Arab states over hundreds of years.

As I've said before, there's a higher chance if Jewish than non-Jewish.

That doesn't mean only Jews are granted citizenship... Israel is a vast melting pot which people want to ignore.

So those wishing for a united Ireland should, in your opinion, go live in the Republic?
-1
Galloway anti-Semitic on 09:58 - Jun 11 with 943 viewsladyjack

They should never have created a Jewish state, British policy was not to have a Jewish state, now there is a Jewish State there should be a Palestinian state as well with the occupied territories given back.

Galloway anti-Semitic on 10:00 - Jun 11 with 939 viewsbluey_the_blue

That's a very naive view, Trampie.

There was a good chance of a two state solution years ago, the problem is the whole PA, Fatah, Hamas dynamic means any chance of peace would get undermined.

Or a Muslim state. Or a Christian state. What's the difference?
A Jewish state is not a state for people. It's a state for an entire religion. Or am I wrong?

There could easily be peace over there.
If Palestinians just accepted the regime and gave up their land and houses without argument. Oh and agreed to live in poverty and without basic needs like water etc.
I mean, it's not as if they own the land anyway is it?
