Seen guys like Pearlman come and go in our industry. Absolute chancers usually on ridiculous wages, spouting ridiculous marketing speak...but actually creating f"ck all. Thank f"ck he's gone. Birch would have seen right through him to be fair...

La Braseria and La Parrilla will be gutted. Pearlman and his family in there all the time.

Anyway we don't need Birch and Pearlman. His wages will come in handy for the new Head of Recruitment.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Let’s hope he’s replaced with someone who can manage to strike a deal with a company past Neath

Sad news for Swansea City - a very decent, honest and hard worker for the club and fully aware of the s**t aimed in his direction.
Going part time is the interesting part. Sounds like Birch, who is a far more capable CEO than Jenkins, has decided he is capable of taking on much of the work previously done by Pearlman.

The fact he'll moving to a position with far greater financial turnover with the same employers suggests his services a re greatly valued.

But let's have 20 pages of cheap shots, abuse and conspiracy theories anyhow.

What's he achieved that has been successful?

"Turnover for the year was £126.8 million compared with £127.8 million for the previous year. This included an increase of £2.6 million in commercial revenue to £12 million, mainly via additional sponsorship gains."

Never met the guy and I am not familiar with the internal workings of the club, but he did joined when the club was on the way down which would have made it harder. From what I recall reading in the Club accounts, he seemed to have increased the commercial revenue which when you think of the clubs direction of travel was a pretty tidy achievement. He also brought the end of season sale/clear-outs in the shop forward which meant more gear was being offloaded and sold to the supporters coming to the games.
The concept of a City Centre store is a good one, but I don’t think the club is big enough to sustain one.

Kaplan and Levien must rate him if he’s going to work at DC United.

So basically you are saying that the only reason for pearlman being here is that Jenkins wasn’t all that.

To be fair, that doesn't necessarily mean he was successful. Or as successful as he could have been. Or as successful as someone else may have been.

It just means he was more successful than the previous incumbent.

I’m not saying he was or wasn’t, to be clear, I’m just saying that your snippet from the accounts doesn’t mean anything.

'Returning home with his family to the USA, Pearlman will work directly with the club’s majority owners, Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien, on critical initiatives and potential areas of growth at their MLS club DC United,

while also contributing where required on important projects at Swansea City'

Hopefully that means there will be some joined up thinking with links between the two clubs - joint sponsorship could easily be presented to companies (had we stayed in the PL the Audi / VW was on the cards to rename the Liberty).
It would also be a good link for some of our pyounge player s to go on loan there (higher standard than League 2).
Continue keeping Swansea's profile high in the US.

“We would like to thank Chris for his hard work and commitment over the last three years. It goes without saying that we wish him and his family well as they return home to the States.’’

Doesn’t say anything about ‘and we look forward to working with him again on future projects ‘ does it. Working for the same owners isn’t working part time for the club.

But you carry on.

His leaving smells of PR Bullshirt. He seemed to be as clueless as the rest of them regarding matters this side of the pond. The other side of the pond is obviously a different game.

This just seems to be them pulling back and letting Birch get on with whatever they have hired him to do.

Nice to have hopes, and it would be nice to be wrong, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Rare common sense on the subject. Nice to see.

The problem is not that we appointed Pearlman. The problem is that we appointed him (or someone like him) about three years too late. We had a real opportunity in 2012-2014 to grow the club as a commercial entity. If someone competent had been in charge of that side of things at the time instead of the useless f*ckwit Dineen then perhaps we might have managed to do so.

As you say, by the time CP came in we were on the way down and decent sponsors were becoming harder to find. Despite this the club managed to grow commercial revenue under him. He seems to be held in decent regard within the organisation because this move looks like a promotion to me.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Another of his ‘bright’ ideas was to effectively disband the Vice Presidents Club, a group of mostly older diehard fans, which was formed during the Vetch Field days. They helped the club enormously during the dark days with donations and fundraising to save the club from bankruptcy.
He steamrollered them out of the small hospitality room they’d occupied since the Liberty opened, refused them an alternative room, probably seeing them as a threat to the hierarchy, and knocked the two adjacent rooms into one and called it the Legends Lounge.
He offered them seats in this new lounge for 2018-19 season but raised the price from £810 to £1385 per year, to be paid in advance by the end of March of 2017-18 relegation season.
Only a handful of VP’s took up the offer and last season there were many empty seats in this new lounge and in the West Stand as a high percentage of VP’s stopped going altogether, in disgust at the way they’d been treated.
He also bumped up prices dramatically in the other hospitality lounges and lost a lot of fans from those lounges as well, some match days they were half empty.
