I assume if there is a 'first' to be had for Reading, they will achieve it here, or if a player hasn't scored for 400 matches, he'll likely bag himself a brace in this game, or the first might be that they actually fill the stadium.
Nevertheless, I'm hoping, foolishly, that Sheff Utd was the new normal, and Fleetwood was the anomaly (albeit typical cup result).

Until their first goal it looked like we were okay, building well though not threatening goal. Then a bloody worldy from Hendricks and a second rather suspect offside from him spoils everything.
In truth we look devoid of confidence. Willock so badly out of form. Chair not able to conjure much on his own. Roberts invisible. Ireogbunam not interested very much. And too often degenerating to slow ponderous passing around.

Agreed, Chair has been our best player by far. I have no idea what has happened with Willock. He's gone from being one of (if not the) best players in the Championship to a pale shadow of the player we thought he was. |  | | |

Convinced that this lot are trying today, but to a man Reading are better than us. Carroll everything we're not - physical, energetic, nasty, in the face of the weak as pss referee and winning everything in the air.
Compare that to Dykes.
Willock shot, Dickie needs 2-3 touches so we never move the ball fast. Pedestrian. Second best to the second ball every single time all over the pitch. Not even sure Tim is actually on the pitch; he offers nothing today. Laird trying to make things happen; Paal taking the easy option time after time.
Critchley stood on the edge of the technical area motionless saying nothing.
Not sure they've finished scoring yet, but fairly sure that we have.
This is horrendous. Sitting here, can't do anything about it and watching my team descend to this.

That was horrendous!
No pattern to our play; I am closer to my brother in Australia than Tim is to Field, not playing forward when it is on, Dieng had a mare with that second goal, and I have no hope that things are going to change.
Willock - has a players form ever dropped off so much? He can't beat a player!
Chair, Field, and possibly Dykes, did ok.
Make no mistake, Reading are awful, their defence look terrible yet we don't look like troubling them.

I thought it was quite telling towards the end of that half, when Senny gathered the ball and sprinted forward to release the ball to someone for the break, only to realise that most of the team were behind him just wandering out… where’s the desire?

This is now the worry, it's a very tough job for Critchley. There are clearly players in this team that, for one reason or another, do not want to play. Roberts shouldn't be playing, Tim Iroebognum is talented but unaware of players running beyond him, might as well let Dozzell learn on the job. If it means a change in formation so be it but at least make an effort. I'm just angry. | | | |
