10 games for Rusty 09:35 - Sep 17 with 4488 viewssaintwizzler

10 league games for Russell Martin to prove he’s the man for the job.
After the WBA home game there is an international break.
That’ll be 16 games in total under the new manager.
I think that’s a fair amount to judge him on.

Ipswich H
Middlesbrough A
Leeds H
Stoke A
Rotherham H
Hull A
Preston A
Birmingham H
Millwall A
WBA H

I think we take a view after saturday
Leicester hammered us
Lets see how we get on against our closest opponents in the league before we all go patting Wussell on the back
Its a marathon not a sprint
Ralphie loved to win 3 or 4 then lose 5
We need stability and momentum so lets just see

I’m not patting Mr Russell Martin on the back, I was replying to the opening post of see where we are after the WBA game.

He’s got enough points on the board to continue after Saturday.

It’s a results business. See what the next 10 games bring.

Leicester did hammer us, but Ipswich didn't, we beat Leeds and we drew at Preston who were above us at the time as well as beating Hull. We have shown we can live with those around us.

In terms of scoring only the top two teams have scored more, yes our goals against total isn't good, but 9 of the 25 conceded were in just two games, in the other 13 we have averaged 1.23 goals per game let in, that is a goals per game ratio around where most of the top half of the league are at the moment

I’m sure every club would like to pick and choose what games they use for their stats

You’re a hard man to please ffs
What about us smashing Leeds ffs

As a few of us said a while back (including myself) give the bloke time. I remember being mocked for saying it . The Leicester and Sunderland debacles was with a manager with a brand new squad who were trying to get used to his ideas. It was always going to take a while. We’re not Swansea who he got to 3 points off play offs, we’ve got better players than Swansea and more money to spend.

7 games unbeaten
1 point off third
Ross Stewart imminent

Yes so lets take the ones that can't be argued with

27 points after 15 games = 1,80 per games , x that by 46 = 82 points and that is nailed on for the play offs, so cause for optimism that we can achieve that.

Take current form of the last 6 games,( Notice I haven't picked 7 games I have knocked out the Leeds win, that is 14 points = 2.33 per game.

So if we average 2.33 in our remaining 31 games that is 72 points which when added to our current total = 99 points and that is nailed on automatic promotion.

So take a viewpoint either from the start of the season or a short term form guide and the outlook is optimistic

There’s only one stat that should be looked at.

The league position.

4th place at present.

I’d rather be 4th from top than 4th from bottom.
