Bring back cash 08:33 - Jul 20 with 2943 viewsbuilthjack

After yesterday maybe people will realise that we can’t get rid of cash.
I was in Brecon yesterday afternoon and noticed a long queue of about 30 people at the Lloyds cash point.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

If you get a safe, make sure it’s galvanised steel, and waterproof.

Thing is we get our cash out of machines, our accounts are controlled by computers, we are already too far down that rabbit hole.

We can insist on keeping on using cash but how do we get it out of the machines when the machines aren't working? How many local branches are there now? How often do we deal with people in branch?

This was a fight we should have been having 25 years ago but nobody saw it coming, ir if they did they were par of the goup that wants this. Young people today live their lives online, they go cashless becaue it's easy and they don't see the storm building.

A lot of mistakes have been purposely made by this generation that will negatively affect the next generation, and the one after that, and the one after that., etc, etc…….

What freedoms have you lost?

Well I’ve lost the ones they voted to take away from me. The irony with some of these posters is staggering.

You down-arrowed my comment on the banks and a cashless society but you've provided no comments.

Your reason for the down-arrow would possibly provide a position not thought of by myself and others?

It's a step I would happily take, why worry about "big brother" knowing your every financial detail if you have nothing to hide. They probably know a lot more than you might imagine anyway.

Without cash there would be a massive increase in tax revenue that would benifit us all. Plus all the illegal activities like drug dealing, contraband cigarettes, stolen goods ect would be very difficult to continue without cash. Extreme it might be, but it would benifit the majority of us law abiding citizens.

I have posted something similar in times gone by, if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear. Thing is, I'm not sure that is true anymore.

I guess that's because I simply do not trust politicians. You can be law abiding and still fall foul of the powers that bevause someone pushes the wrong button.

Tax revenue will rise but who knows by how much and there is still the issue of banks/card providers taking a cut of every transaction and transferringyet more wealth into their system. What was it, somthing like 16 transactins and almost 50 quid belongs to the card provider instead of being in circulation.

Has there ever been a generation that didn't do something that affected the genrations behind them?

When you say this generation, do you mean a specific age group because as many as 7 gerations can be alive at the same time.

Not that I don't know what you are droning on about. I think you are stuck in a self detructive loop.

I regard down and up arrows as a casual " I disagree". I do not take is to heart. Some have a low regard for me and that is fine too. It's a forum for view and debates.

Some like to control the narrative. The Chief would never leave any of my comments in answered. He then got worn out and disappeared.

There is now around £100 billion in cash in the UK.
Compared to £35 billion 10 years ago.

Back in the day,I well remember taking the takings to the night safe with a chum for “security”.
We were always told by head office not to fight back of attacked and to let them have the money

Shite

Good old days, used to have to walk to the bank most days to bank cash with one of the supervisors, we took five or six different routes. I asked her one day how much we would need to run away. She said £7,500, if it meant not seeing her husband anymore, which was exactly what we had!

They used to have the cash back option & got up to £50 in cash on the Asda self service machines but that seems to have stopped in the last couple of months...

Used to find it convenient but now have to go to the bank because I will never ever use them cash machines outside where they are all open to crooks to tamper with...
