York Match 12:31 - Jan 9 with 2023 views | mikehunt | Is the York match next Tuesday or Wednesday? And, more to the point, what's the likelihood of it going ahead? Ta.

York Match on 14:14 - Jan 9 with 1765 views | rochdale1987 | I'd say there's little to no chance of this game going ahead. Since our last postponement when the pitch was waterlogged, we have had lots of snow, which then begun to thaw, then even more snow, and freezing temperatures for the last few days and overnight freezing temperatures through until Monday. I think it'll be a miracle if we see a home game before February unless we get a long spell of dry / mild weather. So I wonder, has the club either borrowed / loaned in or purchased some full rain covers yet? If not, why not? Has the club been in touch with other local clubs ahead of a likely postponement for the York game, to see if we can use their stadium? I hate to suggest it, but contacting Bury FC to use Gigg Lane would be the most common sense option. Their pitch is 3g too so not much risk of a postponement, and can accommodate us and York fans without any issues. The planned pitch works won't be able to take place until the surface is completely free of any frost, which I don't think will be any time soon due to the weather forecast. Hopefully it's a rip up and start again project in Summer.

York Match on 13:11 - Jan 10 with 809 views | 442Dale | Would expect a statement from the club before close of business today about what work has/hasn’t taken place this week to ensure supporters are fully aware of the current situation. It might be that work has had to be delayed due to the cold weather, so it’ll be easy to update what contingency planning is in place to get the York game on and then complete the work before the next home league game scheduled for 25th - a ten day window (move the Stoke u21 game somewhere, anywhere) Alongside that, as per the Trust newsletter, we will should receive an update from themselves on various matters (Stockton ticketing/Sandy Lane closure/pitch) as stated: “ The Trust hopes during the week beginning 6th Jan to put out a more detailed statement on all matters subject to clarification on the above by the Club.” If there isn’t a “detailed statement” this week, we should hopefully receive a further update to acknowledge this and when it will follow.

Excellent statement from the club. Seemingly not from Dale Trust. This says nothing. https://www.daletrust.co.uk/2025/01/pitch-update/
