The decision made in the summer regarding the manager will determine our ambitions as a club. Stick with Sheehan and in my opinion it will show a total lack of ambition, irrespective of the results for the rest of this season. The club needs a massive reboot by the new ownership otherwise we will continue to stagnate, Sheehan is not the answer. |

I can't understand why a great poster like you can't see that sheehan should get the job.
Not just for the reasons that I've already said but it will save time and money sourcing a new manager plus bedding in time for the new manager.

I can't agree that him being the "cheap option" will be that much of a factor. With one exception (Cooper), we've paid compensation to other clubs for every permanent manager we've appointed since Carvalhal.
Clearly we've been willing to spend if they think the preferred candidate is the right one. Problem is they haven't been. Sheehan will get the job permanently if they think it's the right call. If they don't, he won't. |  |

There is the usual clamour that if AS gets the job. We took the cheap option as usual.
Well let's not worry about what anyone perceives as the cheap option. The important thing is getting the option right.
I see a spirit and spark there at the moment that I can't remember seeing for some time .
Further to that Ben taking over the captaincy since Matty left is also a factor IMO.

It could be the case that the cheap option is the best option and the bonus could be that it leaves more money to spend on players.

Leeds always leak goals which we managed to exploit under both Sheehan and William's but the latter's defensive setup up with the team selection certainly left us vulnerable. Sheehan's selection and setup seems to made us more solid but can our squad crack that strong defensive set up like Burnley's and other teams that have come to our home stadium to stifle our attack.
We have seen how badly stupid mistakes in the wrong areas of the pitch have effected us under the likes of Williams and Martin's even Sheehan but the play certainly been more controlled and in the right areas of the pitch under Sheehan. Happy for him to have the rest of the season to see if he can open stubborn defensives which may not be so stubborn as teams strive for needed points to keep them away for the relegation zone. If the "improvement " continues to the end of the season I would be happy to go with Sheehan for next season and not go for a new manager. [Post edited 31 Mar 14:18]

We hired an unknown in Brendan Rogers a while back who did a good job for us. Yes he had money thrown at him for players but AS has done a good job so far with players that only a few weeks ago were called league 1 drop outs at best. Fan brush it off and the shortfall is by Americans who the fans can barely offer any a thanks. "Show some ambition " ( cash).
The same fans had an organisation worth £21m in 2016 and they were too timid to sell any shares.
Swansea cannot continue to over pay passengers and average Joe's. McLaughlin, Pederson Cooper Fulton Allen Naughton. Squad players must be 100% academy lads offering energy and graft. Throw them in and reduce the£40000 a day losses.
The club has now no choice. Only £9m loss allowed this year. Cost have to be cut 40% across the board. Coleman was notan enough to do it. Cotterill Wilson Congreve Hennia or new cheap signings have to deliver next season. |  |
