🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job 19:37 - Feb 17 with 59175 views | KeithHaynes | Let’s start with the ones who are way out of their depth. Rob Page Garry Monk. The Swans need to be focussed and a proper manager who knows the Championship and has been successful is the only answer. Quit dreaming about idiots 👍

🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job on 13:47 - Mar 29 by Whiterockin | The decision made in the summer regarding the manager will determine our ambitions as a club. Stick with Sheehan and in my opinion it will show a total lack of ambition, irrespective of the results for the rest of this season. The club needs a massive reboot by the new ownership otherwise we will continue to stagnate, Sheehan is not the answer. |
Well todays line up tells all we need to know about AS, it could be a bloodbath out there today.

Hmmm, opinions eh. Turns out we more than deserved a draw and could claim that we deserved to win. Sheehan did his claim for the job no harm at all today, another 7 auditions to go.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16HyGGytn4/?mibextid=wwXIfr This ^ is why sheehan is Imo the best man for the job. He knows the club through and through, he's respected by everyone at the club, he has the help he needs and more importantly he's humble, the total opposite of williams. [Post edited 30 Mar 9:10]

A couple more performances like yesterday and I'll be changing my mind and eating humble pie.

I can't understand why a great poster like you can't see that sheehan should get the job. Not just for the reasons that I've already said but it will save time and money sourcing a new manager plus bedding in time for the new manager. The current players know him and respect him, he obviously knows how to coach and manage plus him and his new coaching team will get the players they want in the new season.

I did say a couple more performances like yesterday and I could be changing my mind. My concern is are the club looking at him as a cheap option, because he is and will they back him financially with the players he wants. Somebody fresh would demand this, I hope Sheehan does if offered the job full time.

I can't agree that him being the "cheap option" will be that much of a factor. With one exception (Cooper), we've paid compensation to other clubs for every permanent manager we've appointed since Carvalhal. Clearly we've been willing to spend if they think the preferred candidate is the right one. Problem is they haven't been. Sheehan will get the job permanently if they think it's the right call. If they don't, he won't.

🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job on 12:28 - Mar 30 with 2054 views | heatwave | There is the usual clamour that if AS gets the job. We took the cheap option as usual. Well let's not worry about what anyone perceives as the cheap option. The important thing is getting the option right. I see a spirit and spark there at the moment that I can't remember seeing for some time . Further to that Ben taking over the captaincy since Matty left is also a factor IMO. Good luck to the Gaffer he has certainly for me made us more watchable.

It could be the case that the cheap option is the best option and the bonus could be that it leaves more money to spend on players. If Sheehan can keep these performance levels til the end of the season and we move up the table he will deserve a crack at the job full time. We all know there are no guarantees, Sheehan could work a miracle this season then flop next season but bringing in someone from outside with a proven record doesn't guarantee success either.

It may well come down to someone they have already had discussions with and whether they want the job.
🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job on 08:18 - Mar 31 with 1467 views | RichardO | The question being asked about Sheehan was could his team match the big boys of the league given the performances against Leeds and Burnley would the answer be yes? Leeds always leak goals which we managed to exploit under both Sheehan and William's but the latter's defensive setup up with the team selection certainly left us vulnerable. Sheehan's selection and setup seems to made us more solid but can our squad crack that strong defensive set up like Burnley's and other teams that have come to our home stadium to stifle our attack. We have seen how badly stupid mistakes in the wrong areas of the pitch have effected us under the likes of Williams and Martin's even Sheehan but the play certainly been more controlled and in the right areas of the pitch under Sheehan. Happy for him to have the rest of the season to see if he can open stubborn defensives which may not be so stubborn as teams strive for needed points to keep them away for the relegation zone. If the "improvement " continues to the end of the season I would be happy to go with Sheehan for next season and not go for a new manager. [Post edited 31 Mar 14:18]

Whether its Sheehan or ANO, the Squad will still need strengthening with probably 3/4 players with some quality, we got to many players who have mistakes in them, all players make mistakes granted, but we players like Key, Tymon, EOM and even Darling makes them far to often.

Agree the first eleven need strengthening but we have seen how the inclusion of O'Brien and Delacroix has made a difference and made the team more competitive. As for the squad agreè nèw blood is needed. [Post edited 2 Apr 16:07]

🔴 Likely candidates for the Swans job on 15:33 - Mar 31 with 1136 views | Azzuriswan | We hired an unknown in Brendan Rogers a while back who did a good job for us. Yes he had money thrown at him for players but AS has done a good job so far with players that only a few weeks ago were called league 1 drop outs at best. If LW had been in charge on Saturday we could have had a good spanking.

Any business outside football would regard losses of £280k a week as absolutely horrendous. £40,000 a day. Fan brush it off and the shortfall is by Americans who the fans can barely offer any a thanks. "Show some ambition " ( cash). The same fans had an organisation worth £21m in 2016 and they were too timid to sell any shares. Swansea cannot continue to over pay passengers and average Joe's. McLaughlin, Pederson Cooper Fulton Allen Naughton. Squad players must be 100% academy lads offering energy and graft. Throw them in and reduce the£40000 a day losses. The club has now no choice. Only £9m loss allowed this year. Cost have to be cut 40% across the board. Coleman was notan enough to do it. Cotterill Wilson Congreve Hennia or new cheap signings have to deliver next season.

Any of our attacking players would dominate at Bromley, Swindon or Yeovil. Imagine bringing in free transfers from those clubs, who had a handful of goals and assists between them and asking them to perform in the Championship. Fans would be up in arms. There has to be a balance between Pedersen on his massive wages and flooding the team with academy graduates who aren’t making waves in league two. It’s stupid to go all in one way or the other. The club have already started addressing this by bringing in the likes of Franco, Eom and Vipotnik on sustainable wages. I’m sure that will continue this summer and some bigger earners will go. As I’ve said before, I’m pretty sure it’s more of an issue with the preparation our young players are getting than the players themselves. Semi-competitive games aren’t preparing them for the cut and thrust and they are consequently struggling on loan in the lower divisions

Swansea have to pay the kids or sell 2-3 player for a combined £10m. There is no other option. The club is losing £40, 000 a day. Congreve Cottrill Josh Thomas are 21-22.
