Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale on 21:28 - Apr 8 by daleitetilidie | We don’t look arsed. Goalkeeper takes forever to take any kick then goes long which Mitchell never looks like getting onto. Sutton looking stronger last10 mins. Wouldn’t surprise me if they snatched it. Don’t think we’ll score if we played all night. Just awful to watch. |
The lack of urgency in the second half has been shocking.

It's. The same lack of urgency that has been our downfall all season

Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale on 21:43 - Apr 8 with 2877 views | DaleFan7 | Another performance where we created next to nothing. Another away game where we've conceded late. Another game in hand lost. 0 away wins in 2025. Not good enough. But to be fair, the pitch was bad, Sutton have a bigger budget than us, the ref was awful and we have loads of injuries so it's alright.

Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale on 21:46 - Apr 8 with 2790 views | Sandyman | I hope we don't get the "hangover from the disappointment of last Saturday" excuse from Jim. Woking, who were woeful last Tuesday (like us) and lost their FA trophy semi-final on Saturday (like us), were at Oldham tonight. After going a goal down they went on to win. No hangover there. Perhaps they have character and a better manager than we have.
Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale on 21:47 - Apr 8 with 2724 views | Trev | What a week to be a Dale fan. Really can't see how McNulty's job is tenable if we miss out on the play offs.
Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale on 21:48 - Apr 8 with 2700 views | pnc4eva1 | As an exile. I watch and pay for games on DAZN. I've also got a countrywide ticket and get up for as many games as I can afford. Tonight's performance has summed up the season. Promise. So much but deliver nothing. Mitchell is not a target man. Rodney is wasted out wide. Barlow is also wasted outside. Drop a Barlow into advanced midfield Play either Hendo and Rodany or Mitchell and Rodany upfront. Final ask, please stop messaging every move from defense

I hope our owners are looking at the decision-making process, which they've had to rely on being unfamiliar with the football world. It's starting to cost them

The contract will have exit clauses. Dunphy talks about such things in his book and the furore around giving Hill a five year deal.

Can't be sure there will be exit clauses Dunphy wasn't involved in JM's contract (obvs.)

Of course I can’t be sure. Replace “will” with “should”. But it would be very surprising if it didn’t with it being a standard practice. The Ogdens were here when the contract was agreed so they’ll have had input too.

If it hasn't, now that would be shocking Edit: even if we were to not make the playoffs, i can't see how finishing just outside would trigger any exit clauses. Depends on whether they're down to factors other than league position, of course, but i think we're stuck with him for the time being [Post edited 8 Apr 22:17]

Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale on 22:18 - Apr 8 with 2028 views | dingdangblue | Awful awful result and another sleepwalking performance. No urgency and a number 9 who struggles to control the ball and score goals. Jim was probably happy with a 0-0. Can hear him now... 'I couldn't see them scoring Greg'. Well they did - nice guys dont win and Jim is a very very nice man. The play offs are looking like they are too much for us now. Our away form is shocking and we are so soft and easy to play against. Really cant see us winning another game this season.

We just don’t know. But managers get sacked all the time, irrespective of position in the league table (see what happened at Birmingham). In all cases, the contract will have the situation covered. It’s always been a results business. It affects everything.

It'll certainly make our game at Alty on Good Friday "interesting"

A game for 75mins that Sutton didn't show any intent to win, it's becoming a pattern now and it was called out in our WhatsApp group. I've said on here previously that I would sack him and appoint Hill until the end of the season to try and at least guide us into the playoffs and then we go again in the summer🤷.

Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale on 22:32 - Apr 8 with 1778 views | 49thseason | On the bright side, it has brought the run of away draws to a juddering halt...another game ticked off where the inability to complete the basic action of the game .. score a goal , preferably 2, has cost more points... this season is dying on its knees, once again the overwhelming sense is of waste....wasted effort, wasted opportunity, wasted money... the old story of the ages doing another lap around the block. Nothing changes because nothing changes, cheap options, inexplicable decisions.. Turning this club around is a mammoth undertaking... surely we have now reached peak ridiculousness... its time to break all the moulds, shatter the belief structures and build a new club in every sense. History is bunk, and in our case amounts to a century or more of missed chances and opportunities, a winning mentality seems like an unwelcome attitude, this is little Rochdale and everyone thinks they can beat us....including the manager and his players....
