Yep. It’s crap. Thinking of driving to East Grinstead to get the train from there but guessing anyone for miles around heading to London will do the same. The whole thing by train/rail replacement bus is about three hours or could try driving the whole way which feels the worst option of the lot. |
And its gonna be the same for three weekends in January. I'm gonna have to get a train to Havant, and then into Waterloo |  |

Amazing match. My first 'real' away match as a 10 year old. Caught the supporters club coach from Loftus Road and it tooks hours and hours to get to Villa Park. I recall the coach broke down on the way up and we only got to the ground just before kick off. |  | | |

I found the MOTD programme that showed highlights of the 1982 WBA FA Cup semifinal at Highbury on YouTube recently: the commentator said that both teams had returned tickets and we only took 20000 that day? Anyone remember? As a child at the game it seemed pretty full to me.
It was a pretty dull game: apart from the Clive Allen rebound goal neither keeper had much to do, Bob Hazell was magnificent in keeping Cyrille Regis quiet all game. |

On the qprnet.com site in the seasonal stats section it says the attendance that day was 45,015. The Clock end terrace I reckon held about 13-14k. |  |

The middle of the North Bank was rammed, but there was lots of room at either end. Personally, I had two or three steps to myself a little bit to the left of the main body of support.
The following year, Brighton - Sheffield Wednesday has 54,267 quoted as the attendance, which is higher that I thought Highbury held! |  | | |

According to t'internet, capacity of Highbury in 1982 was 57,000 so 54k probably about right.
As far as our game, 45k, also about right. Roughly 20k each.
WBA were First Division, we were Second Division. Different days then too, still issues with hooliganism etc so probably alienated a lot of people that would probably be perfectly OK going today. |  | | |
