| Stephan on 20:17 - Feb 28 by Wegerles_Stairs | I don't know. If you had to say what his style is, what would you say? Passive. Long balls. We barely press. I get we have injuries but we were playing poorly before Christmas too. Today, come out and have a go. We were 14th, they were 16th. Why be so bloody passive in the first half, letting them pass it around where they liked? Marti was so much better and got so much more out of a worse squad. True, he lost it towards the end but he had Nourry briefing against him. Stephan is Nourry's man. That's pretty terrifying tbh - this style of play is ill-suited to this league. |
"We barely press". I honestly don't think the squad is fit enough to press effectively. It takes a lot of energy to do that. Compare and contrast our forward press now with when we had Mackie. To be fair, Smyth does press well, though.

| Stephan on 14:28 - Mar 1 by SW_Ranger | The problem is injuries - for two seasons now we’ve had this. Deal with the problem and give the coach and the players the best opportunity to be the best they are. Surely that’s not rocket science. Sort out the problem QPR board. This performance team has had two seasons now and managed to provide a slow start and a nigh on impossible finish to the season. Time for a new performance team Lee and Christian. What is the data telling you?? Where are the best fitness coaches in this league or league 2. Time to do the homework and sort it out by the end of the season so the new team are ready for pre-season. If you don’t, then expect more of the same next season. And don’t expect to have your best assets fit to sell on to make your/the strategy work. |
Injuries absolutely are a problem but most of the uninjured players aren't fit enough for the rigours of this league. Incredible .

If I could upvote this twice I would . The conditioning of the players has been awful since the day they come back from Holiday in the summer

And telling how some players seek second opinions and alternative treatment on their injuries outside of the club.

This is why I'd imagine Stephan will walk in the summer. Everywhere he turns his hands are tied.

I agree but it's not simply about that. Some of these injuries are linked to poor recruitment. If you insist on buying players with poor injury records then don't be surprised if they end up injured. I mean Obikwo, what on earth is happening there? A daft January signing to say the least. Vale was injured for some months when we signed him. Poku can't seem to manage more than a game without breaking down. And as for Glass Salter, well the less said the better. Yes the performance team needs to pull its socks up but the club could help by being more creative at board level to generate new revenue streams that then enable recruitment of robust players who don't turn up on day 1 with a sick note.
| Stephan on 08:05 - Mar 3 with 1030 views | mart_Goblin | I remember after the Middlesbrough away game last year JS said something about “let’s wait until we play them again later in the season “ hinting that we would have closed the gap by then. He might regret that . | | | | Login to get fewer ads

he does in recent press conferences seem to be not playing the party line , which is strangely familiair to our last coach around this part of the season . yet the real problems with fitness etc have it seems got worse not anyway better this season , the bank account is empty and our spiritual home of 16th place is looking optimisitic right now, gonna be a hard sell for season tickets next season thats for sure

No they are not: this season we have a waiting list for tickets and can’t see why that would change.

Is the waiting list based on demand though? Or is it just a marketing device considering they can't sell anyone a season ticket at this point?
| Stephan on 12:47 - Mar 3 with 627 views | Wegerles_Stairs | There were a lot of empty spaces in the Lower Loft at the Sheffield United game, even though it was supposedly nearly sold out. Obviously people might not turn up but it felt pretty bare. | | | |

Well they were turning away people looking to buy tickets at the box office well before kick off which suggests it was sold out to me.

Probably a few season ticket holders who either couldn't make it or couldn't be bothered. I expect it'll be the same on Sunday, given the oppo, being on TV and the stupid KO time.

What is the data telling you? The issue is you can get any data to say whatever you want it to say. CN and BW do this very well and when they do they restrict any ability to retort.

Exactly this. Data can be manipulated so many ways and once you get caught out doing it you look pretty stoopid. This mob have already played their card on the "% availability" front by adding in QPR Ladies, kids etc into last seasons figures. Increase or decrease your souce data and %'s suddenly look really good or really concerning. Returning to the subject -- I get the feeling the Frenchman is making noises to protect his rep so he's not walking into interviews with QPR shit on his shoes. Imagine we get relegated from the position we were in mid January? That would properly blot your copybook so distancing himself from the Cohort of Heads is the way forward. Soon forgotton is the club at the start of the season shouting loud and proud that decisions on players and positions are a collaboration that all the Heads have input into. Circus

Yes problem being re injuries, all the fans and et al, all smell BS when its extremely evident. To be told last time, our injury records stood up well, in comparison to most championship outfits. Well, it wasn't that then, but now its literally fallen through the cellar floor !!! Wish the club were honest with regards this. That would be all it takes to get fans onside. Your everyday Jo is happy to be told the truth, then between us, we can all get made aware of a different approach and that alone would get fans, onside with Williams, Nourry etc. If they just said, we are aiming to learn from our mistakes. Fans would be much more forgiving and respecting.... But injuries they try to fob us off with BS and my ten year old nephew would be able to tell that they telling lies. If they gave us some credit as knowing A from B, then they might find fans will be more onside with them..... But weirdly they dont !! [Post edited 3 Mar 17:27]
