Looking at York's only 2 away defeats this season both Boreham Wood and Gateshead scored 3. Also at Barnsley in the FA Cup who needed 3 goals to beat them. The last time they failed to score was at home to Solihull back in September 2025. The only other game they failed to score this season was at Southend 0-0 back in August 2025. Any thoughts of 1 or 2 goals and seeing the game out will end in tears. |  |

Your dedication to Dale from the wilds of Sussex is admirable but very few if any Daleys consider themselves wallflowers. Calls to unite ahead of Saturday are pointless - don't you know that's exactly what we'll be at kick off?
Some don't have the stomach for what's known as "mixing it" but that's what the players wearing Dale shirts might have to do to get us over the line against York. I'd advise not to ask fans not to do what you'd want players to do: get stuck in, give no quarter, put themselves on the line with honesty and no remorse

When? I am pretty sure this game is unique in the club's history. I just felt some comments have been unnecessarily negative and as I said cueing up an I told you so. Anyway as I have said previously the performance is extremely important tomorrow. When we played Spurs in the FA Cup the media were scratching their heads asking how we were in the league position we were in, come Half two quarter to three tomorrow afternoon. Anyway as I have said previously the performance is extremely important tomorrow. When we played Spurs in the FA Cup the media were scratching their heads asking how we were in the league position we were in, come Half two quarter to three tomorrow afternoon. Let the media be in no doubt we deserve to be top of the National League. |

So... it's not unique: i "wasn't there" but apparently in the 1930s we had a great chance of finishing top of the old Third Division North, with promotion to the Second Division (the Championship now). My long-departed father - a keen supporter in his youth, told of the chairman at the time being unable to guarantee our financial survival if we'd won the league (just one team from the North and South sections promoted back then). We folded in the crunch game, after being favourites. My point? There's a very long history which you (and others) may well be unaware of, and which we have the chance to put right tomorrow and actually win something. It'll come down to nerve and mental readiness, which i don't see amongst those who aren't prepared to do anything other than blindly "believe" - as if that were enough. It's absolutely not...

Not sure there’s any fan who blindly believes. Personally I think it’ll take that as well as some skill, luck and the professionalism and determination we’ve shown all season long which has enabled us to have the best ever season in history when it comes to winning football matches.
The McNulty interview that mentions the word belief also covers the professionalism and the determination shown over the last week when preparing for such a huge game. |  |

Also finished second in 1926/27 to Stoke who we beat in April but there were still seven games left after that.

Yeah, like at Newport when we had to rely on Chesterfield tripping up. Today we can influence the team who can prevent us winning the title. Could be wrong, but it is the only time in the club’s history where such a shootout for a championship has occurred. | |
