Does anyone have any update regarding whether Henderson, Smith and Edwards are any closer accepting or rejecting new contracts? I wondered whether the change of manager may have seen offers withdrawn, especially to Smith as Gordon has signed elsewhere.

I don't think Smith & Gordon though related,live hand in love. Completely different players and capabilities.

My initial cynicism when Smith was offered a new deal was that it might have persuaded Gordon to stay - one stays, both stays.

If Edwards stays would one of East or Francis need to leave? Not sure we need three similar players even if we did play with three central midfielders. If we were recuiting in midfield as a change of style we do not really have a quick, mobile destroyer or really a runner.

I feel it unlikely that Hendo will sign a new contract and will call it a day.A change of management and a step up to the EFL is possibly one step too many at his age when he has plenty going for him outside of football.
Edwards may well as he is entitled put his toe in the water to see if there is anything more attractive to him. My thoughts to him (for what they are worth) might be that he is not the first to think he is better than being at Rochdale and it doesn't always end as the player has envisaged

I am still hoping Hendo and Edwards sign, I would like to see Hendo used a player coach role, using his football brain and experience to help the management, and he could potentially combine it with his business interest. Also at the end of last season he said he felt fit enough to carry on.
