For existing pubs in the medium - long term possibly. But they have so many closed pubs e.g. Kingsway, I'm sure they will be looking at these first to consider alternative uses etc. Meanwhile, I hope they give the current managers support to see if / how much they can improve the business.

Christ we've lost enough pubs over recent years.

A new era and a chance for his son to make a real difference. Always surprised me that no council challenged Humphrey on the closure of community assets. The Star Inn on Edenfield Road being a good example.

All we can hope is that his family continue the business and try and move it forward by reopening the full estate or selling the ones it doesn't want to new operators.
